There is still a remote gleam of hope that MS will be testing the F60 and it depends on how you interpret article 22.1of the F1 rules. " The teams can organize promotional events or demonstrations using tires made available by the supplier for that occasion."

I agree with Force India and Williams. There should be no testing. Worst case, MS's running at Valencia will equal or surpass what he would have accomplished during a one day test.

Also with the fact that they could possibly lose Nico which is the only one good thing that team has going for them.

Whatever I guess they are just trying to exercise their right.

A rule is a rule, and they knew that coming in. In the interst of safety for Michael and the other drivers, a compromise should be made. Extenuating circumstances have been reached. Even if they only allow 10 laps, it would be better than nothing. The F60 is very different.

Michael can play race driver in the 2007 car all he wants. If Williams wants to be $%#@& then what goes round comes around. :D

Didn't you know in the FIA book of rules Max edition "all people are equal but some are more equal than others."..;)

Whoops, I read the original link and realized they had held back opinion. My bad.

Even if Frank and the boys from Williams are the only team holding MS back from testing, I still think its a good decision. (there are drivers who are more of a safety threat than he will be.

    What's good for the goose....
Another reason to lift the test ban though. It's rediculous and dangerous to put anyone, even Schumi, in an unfamiliar car for the first time in a competition environment.
This will give the FIA another opportunity to exercise their wisdom/swing the meat.

The Red Bull teams are blocking it too. DM said they asked for a test for Hiemie on safety grounds to no avail.

Ferrari didn't have to choose Michael. There were other drivers available where this wouldn't be as much an issue.

According to Norbert Haug (who is the last one to be suspected of giving unfair advantages to Ferrari, I was very surprised to hear from him), the teams would have allowed Alguersuari to test, but TR didn't ask...

    My honest take...

Bernie owns frank williams for the extra money last season(?)...

One quick phone call to Sir Frank from BE and voila...

Suddenly Williams is blocking it... Now the entire conversation is about this. MaXXX who??? Nazi what?

There is no benefit to Bernie in blocking this, quite the reverse. He would benefit greatly if the comeback kid has a fairy tale return, much less so if it turns out to be an anti-climax.

Other than the fact that Michael's return is the best thing that's happened to Bernie and his bank account?

And he has said as much. I believe he said something to the affect of wanting MS to race "forever".
