Im going to try and make it. My car has recently developed a misfire that gets worse when warm. Has a mean backfire now :-( I changed the plugs, seemed to help, but not all gone.

DoubleK Productions' Kerry put a nice event together with a great turnout despite the heat.

And what's very cool is, that also some of the Fiat X-19 owners won some awards. Well done!

PS: I wanted to post pics from the event, but the FChat overhaul won't let me. I'm sure somebody with a Mac will have more luck...

Do you know if my car (number 26) won any awards? I had to leave before 2PM because my little one needed his afternoon nap :)

    Wow! Excellent!

Andreas, I hope I can see you before you leave. What day do you fly out? If I'm in downtown during the week I'll contact you.

Got home and took a look at the photos my wife took and there were none of my car!! Sigh.........I guess the old 328 just isn't sparkling anymore for her.

Here is one of the four she took. Nice day for Italians, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Fiat.

Funny, even though I'm so backed up in photos right now there's always time for one pic...

Did anybody else see Tom Selleck walking around? ;)

    Actually Carla has Andre's plaque.

    I got Sandy and Bill's.

Supernice job. Seeing that title instantly triggered the theme music in my head.

Carla, thanks for picking ours up, we also had to run a little early. So the big question is.... Who was the best in show Ferrari and Lambo? Is there a spot where people are posting more of the pictures from the event?

What exactly is a 250 GTO-R? I saw it and took photos, but what's the history behind it?

it's just referring to the fact that it's like Frankenstein... the card in the window described it as 250 GTO Replica.. :)

That car is a car-nut's dream. Talk about the work, changes and creativity to make it what it is today is simply mindboggling. While it may be a culmination of parts, it certainly has been put together in such a way that it is a real beauty and show stopper.

Frankenstein? Maybe, but a really, really good one!!

and by "like Frankenstein" I mean it's made from parts of lots of unrelated cars, amazingly there has been very little organ rejection.. :)

I thought it was cool, could've settled for some better seats Imo, but I liked it nonetheless. RHD too ;) hehe.

Thanks John really nice of you :) sorry for slow reply, I got tied up at work..

Nationyell, yeah, it needs new seats. We got those so we can stay put when pushing in the turns. They do the job, but we're still trying to decide on something that will be just as effective but look more appropriate ..

I would never have voted "best Ferrari" a car that doesn't have a SINGLE Ferrari part in it...

At least some replicas have the decency :) of using an original 250 or 330 V12 donated from some old scrapped GT car... this one had a JAGUAR V12!!!!

    What a heresy... :)

Congratulations anyway, it was really well executed ;)

Well if we had used the tired 365 engine from a basketcase I got then people would complain about a Ferrari engine suffering the indignity of being in a replica, plus it would have had a lot less power and been heavier.... I have a 550 engine/trans/shell that we'll get to sometime soon I hope, but not for this car.. and i'm sure it will annoy somebody :)

Incidentally the engine isn't a Jag, that would have been heavier and made less power as well. It's a BMW 850 and 6 speed, converted to 4 stage dry sump, with aftermarket cams, aftermarket distributor-less engine management (Tec3r), etc... There are a few real Ferrari parts on it, but I agree, not enough to win a Ferrari category.. we're just happy we get to park with the real Ferraris and our friends :)

    Best,
    Chelle

Ditto Chelle, your car is unique in the fact that it is 'one of a kind'. I'm sure there is not another like it in the world!

And again Carla, what's with the doors? :) Don't you get it, I'm just joking around. You own a beautiful Lambo!
