According to one of my books, the original co-feature with "Attack of the Crab Monsters" was "Not of This Earth", which sounds like the flick Dave was describing.

When I was about 5 or 6 the orginal "Blob" scared me to death. Then when I was about 9 or 10 I snuck into the R rated "Silent Scream" and got really scared. After that I would say:
    Friday the 13th
    Nightmare on Elm Street
    Children of the Corn
    Hostel
    :(

He, thanks for that! I've never been able to remember the name of that movie. I had to leave before it was over, my brothers didn't want to stay so I took them home, actually they did me a favor as I didn't want to watch the film either, my sister stayed to the end.

Halloween! I've seen all of them but none of them come close to the original. I remember when I was younger I watched the movie every Halloween night. I like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday The 13th - but while Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees are entertaining, Michael Myers is actually believable. I still watch it from time to time, I never get bored of it. I saw the remake a while back and thought it was pretty good, but unmistakeably 'Rob Zombie'.

There was one movie that really scared me but I can't remember the name of it. The story was based around a couple that went away to a secluded village for a weekend. They ended up staying at an old mansion where a lot of scary stuff occured and when they attempted to leave the village all the roads led back to the mansion. There was one memorable scene where the girl had a ring forced on her finger and, despite her best attempts, was unable to remove it. I saw this movie around 10 years ago and that's all I can remember. Maybe someone here knows what I'm talking about...

Michael Myers was shot dead yet got up and walked away...not really any more believable than Jason Vorhees. Michael was, in theory, the personification of *evil* and unkillable. But yes I agree out of all the 'slashers', Halloween is the best...and there is hardly any blood at all in that film. Its very clean. Its all mood.

Zombie's halloween had an interesting first half because he got to explore the thing that interested him, how Myers became evil. But once the killing starts it becomes a very hum drum bland movie. Good friend of mine was very involved in the coming sequel...says its awful. Unfortunately I trust his opinion.

Jerry,......Oh man!!!!....I was reallying hoping Halloween-2 would be a great followup.
I think Rob Zombie did a great job on the 1st film.

    Thanks,

I always go see them and judge for myself but thats the word coming from the people that worked on the film. I know test screenings (which Zombie originally said he would never do) are saying that he has far too much of his wife Sherri Moon in the picture. Rob seems to be a bit obsessed with his wife...Ive met her though and she seems very cool and very hot so how can i blame him !

Well, i watched The Happening today on HBO, possibly the worst movie ever made. Wasnt even scary. I would say, however, the scariest movie ive ever seen would be House of 1000 Corpses and Devils Rejects.

I know this probably isn't it, but "In The Mouth of Madness" is also one of my favorite films. It's fairly creepy. Part of the premise is this man and woman go to a town to track down an evil author and cannot leave.

I made the mistake of opening this thread when I was alone in my office building last night. I saw the title The Shining and was like, "oh yeah, here I am alone in this building..." When I went down the empty halls to the bathroom I couldn't stop thinking of it. That's when it was time to pack up and head home for the morning.

Michael Myers is just SO creepy. When I lived in the college dorm, my roommate was really into slasher flicks, etc. She had a Michael Myers mask AND a doll that played the theme song when you squished him.

In our room we had huge wardrobe closets with shelves. Well, on April Fool's Day, she placed the mask on the eye-level shelf in mine. When I opened the doors and saw the mask I screamed so loud...I nearly had a heart attack for Christ's sake!! She was 2 doors down and came busting through the doors yelling "APRIL FOOLS!!!" I wanted to kill her! LOL!! :D

I was unfazed by that movie. Was seeing it with a ton of girls, they were all screaming, i was trying to flirt with them. :D:D:D Come to think of it, it was at a pool party, and they were all wearing swimsuits... I was probably staring at them the whole time! :D:D:D

I'd forgotten all about that movie until you brought it up. Pretty freaky, especially for a tv movie. To think that it was the same Karen Black as the one flying the 747 in Airport 1975.

Last year I saw a film that was horrifying, though not really a horror movie. There was this scene; some weird guy, without saying anything, ties up a couple. After making them lie face down he starts stabbing the guy in the back, repeatedly. No other noises other than the screaming and stabbing sounds. Then he does the same to her. The camera angle is down low so that you can see her face during the entire scene. It was very disturbing... to this day.

I can still see her but cannot remember the name of the movie at all, nor who was in it.
