I can tell you that one. A handfull of very small, countersunk flat-head sheet metal screws. Truly a pain-in-the-neck. But it's really the only way to properly clean the rear window. I can take a picture for you as soon as my car returns from the shop. (Webers rebuilt, new clutch, new flywheel, water pump rebuilt, steering box re-sealed, new fuel filler hoses, new fuel lines, new ignition wires and distributor cap, refinished headers, valves adjusted, timing chain adjusted, cam covers refinished.) I'm told she's going to be a real treat to drive, and I'm looking forward to getting her back.

Sounds like it! Yes I just got done doing the entire fuel system including the tanks through to the restoration of the Webers. That's a lot of work. Those fuel filler hoses are a pain because there's almost no space between the filler neck on the body and the necks on the tanks. When they aren't 100% the car really stinks of gas. It also took me a couple of trys to get the venting system to work properly as well. It's very primative and a bit tricky. I ended up doing the gas line inside of the car in aluminum.

Yes if you can post some shots of how rear slat's are done Daryl that would be great. There aren't many cars with those slats on them.

39 years of residual exhaust leaking into the cockpit, previously leaking fuel lines, and every other smell imaginable all being absorbed by the carpet, leather, seat padding, and the carpet jute. Think of it as an old house with the doors closed, there's always that musty smell, unless the carpet is changed, and the walls painted. Time to redecorate the Espada!

I was just looking at this thread for the first time, and it reminded me of when I visited L.A years ago and went to the studio where Jay Leno shot The Tonight Show. Well, they took us behind the building and right there next to

the door was Jay's Espada. It was the first time I had ever seen one and I thought it was a very nice looking car, then I noticed it was a Lamborghini and looked at it more careful. I'll never forget that, and this has to have been

ten years ago because I also went to a car museum that had a ton of old classic Ferrari's being shown at the time for the 50th anniversary.....anyway, I love all the pics.

Espada does not do well in a photoshoot . Pics not capure the impression one gets while standing beside it .
Quite simply if every Espada was photographed with some one standing next to it you would immediatly get what Bertone tried to achieve . If you ever see the black and white of Ferrucio standing next to one leaning over it ,that speaks more to the height and the lenght than any picture before or since .

That might explain using $20 of gas in only 100 kms :) Hope you get that "consumption" down a bit & enjoy that wonderful machine!

Naw, I had the same issue which is now fixed but my experience is that most of the gas dissapears because of your right foot ... ;>)
    I get 14.5 mpg cruising.

Honestly the mileage is the least of my concerns LOL

ya see how cool they look when a person beside them defines the overall height . Bob my car ran this afternoon for over an hour with the new thermostat at approx 80Celcius....the problem may be licked...

You mean it ran for a whole hour? Nonstop? WOW! ;>))

Do me a favour once your drama settles down a bit and I understand completely. Pull your wipers up off the glass, turn them on high and see how many rotations you get in a minute.
I know it's not under load but it's a starting point for comparison and yours are working OK now?

Be careful that the wipers won't flick back and smash your windscreen ... I'd never run them pulled off the glass myself. I'd remove the wiper arms completely.

If back and fourth counts as one turn then they did 36 back and forths in one minute . The reostat to control the speed didnt work at all...

It works just fine on my car. It doesn't exhibit any tendancy of snapping back.

    Folks,
Finally Espada S2 #8011 makes it...a long trip to cross Atlantic sea...from USA to France, then the road up our workshop facility at Antoine's place in Belgium.

The new owner is a LCB member now.

#8011 needs a full service, it only runs on 9 cylinders, valves, timing, ignition, and so on need a full set up.

Tubeless tires are fitted with a inner tube....ah...ah...ah...is this the way American are fitting tires on a Campagnolo center lock ???

I believe we will discover others irregularities...
    Ciao,
    Olivier
