http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/breaking/6551959.html "Scores of Houston restaurant owners received a letter from an Austin attorney last week offering them the opportunity to purchase one thing that all believed was already and irrefutably theirs their name." Apparently Drew Brees has not had a relationship with his mom for some time because of her wicked ways.
Looks like she passed away, also note the award from the Texas State BAR NEW ORLEANS -- Saints quarterback Drew Brees was excused from practice on Saturday because of a family emergency. Brees missed the Saints' annual Black and Gold Scrimmage because his mother, Mina, died, according to the Austin American-Statesman newspaper. The Saints will not confirm or deny that Brees was absent because of his mother's death. The team's only response is that he has a family issue that he's dealing with. The newspaper article said Mina Brees died in her sleep while visiting her youngest son in Colorado. Mina Brees, a practicing attorney who received the Texas Bar Association Award for Legal Ethics in 2005, was 59 years old. In recent years, she had a rocky relationship with Drew Brees, said WDSU's Fletcher Mackel. In 2006, Drew Brees had his mother remove images of him from campaign materials that she was sending out while running for public office in Texas. Representatives for Drew Brees have described the relationship between mother and son as nonexistent. The Saints are off on Sunday and resume practicing Monday morning. It's not clear when Drew Brees will return to the team. Copyright 2009 by WDSU.com. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed
