After thinking about it, I will agree 100%. There is nothing like the look/feel of a gated Ferrari and "click, click" of gear changes. It's perfect.

OH YAH! That's it. Adding that 3rd dimension to the fenders makes the car so much more aggressive and interesting to look at. Those pictures remind me of the first Road & Track my dad bought me where they compared the old GTO with the new, back in 84 I think. I was 12 yrs old at the time and that was and still is for me the most exciting car of all time.

    Welcome Kristen!

I also just love that part of the 599 and remember the first time I saw it how it instantly caught my attention. Some people hate it.... but not me. I think it's glorious! (I wouldn't want to wash/wax that thing however...)

You can draw that car with three strokes of a pen. Brilliant design.

Always loved that about the F355. I don't think an F-car since has looked like it was literally eating up the road.

Great first post! I had the same feeling the first time I saw a 599 in person. You can't see it in the photographs. My first reaction to it was "wow-- now that is cool!".

The Daytona has many of the classic "Ferrari" details

    1) Egg crate grill
    2) Bayonette blood stripe (all though not exclusively to Ferrari -- it's a Pinnafarina detail used in several Italian cars).
    3) The long gently sloping hood
    4) The "Daytona" style seats still loved in today's cars.
    5) The round tail lights
    6) The star alloy wheels.

The Daytona is full of these cliches'... and we love it for it.

    I have two.
First and foremost are Daytona seats. They make me weak in the knees whether they're on a daytona or a 612.

Second element would be the headlights on the 275, absolute jewelry!

No other cars in the world except the TR and the 348 have them, and I freaking love 'em!
Also, the entire car in the second photo would be pretty much a styling cue. That is pure orgasmic automobile 312P baby but if we have to pick a single styling cue I will say the front fenders remind me of a woman - a very curvacious one.

I really can't argue with any choice in this entire thread.

Always loved the glass of the 330GTC. Just something about it.

I also love the headlight, fender design on Dinos.

Oh yeah...that "FERRARI" insignia is hard to ignore too :) ;)

I don't think you can forget the artistry of what's under the hood of a Ferrari. Thank heavens they had the sense to finally put them under glass so everyone can see!

Here's a 250. The "red heads" and those carbs are dreamy.

As a friend of mine always argues, the Daytona is wonderful because of its purity of design. There is nothing trying too hard (ex. the deep crease down the side of the Cali) to impress. It's beauty is in the simplicity, balance, and class. Obviously other companies thought so, as it is probably the most copied designs that I can think of (just look at Nissans through the 1980s).

Do a little experiment: show guys who know nothing about cars a picture of the Daytona and ask them when it was released. I guarantee they will say something in the late 1970s or early 80s. Just shows how ahead of its time the Daytona was.

Hard to pick, but I feel as though IMO the subtle, non descript lines of the Daytona actually make quite the visual impact! It some how manages to be elegant and menacing at the same time. You really can't beat a car with clean lines.

The Daytona was the birth of the modern GT car. With respect to styling details, the five-spoke 'star' wheels are a signature touch, as are the 'Daytona' seats.
