Hey ya'll, Just want to make sure we are inviting folks to our Savannah event this coming October 2nd thru 4th. This year we are going to be specially treated that Racing ledgend Brian Redmond will be bringing his Targa 66 group to play with us at Robeling Road. We have slots available for non Ferrari's so if you are interested hit me up for more details. I know we have a number of FCA stallwarts that show up, but I really want to get some new Ferrari blood to Savannah, Robeling Road is a VERY safe track, lots of run off, if you have EVER wanted to put your car on the track this is the place to do it... pretty much flat, med speed, and you really have to work at it to spin out! We'll have our usual speed groups, so if you are a novice or just dont want to stress the car or your self - This is the place!!! Savannha is a great town, lots of good food & historic places to visit. "life is like a box of chocolates"! So any how, were looking for you to come on out to Savannah, we'll have rooms at the Planters inn, but there are other hotels available as well! it's always fun! just think of it as a mountain drive but a bit faster & no traffic! and you get to wear cool helmets too!
Interest in the Savannah event has been encouraging and I think this one could raise the bar pretty high. We have a great track format that is friendly for beginners as well as our tallented, more experienced drivers. Savannah is a great couples destination. Plenty of great nightlife and restaurants to enjoy. We will have Brian there with his Targa 66 group. Brian is a famous Ferrari factory driver as well as a Porsche factory driver. It's a great shakedown weekend before we head to Maranello Madness in Florida this November and Cavallino in January. Ferrari of Atlanta will offer full trackside support for anyone that needs it. We are also encouraging everyone to have their car tech inspected before the event. There is no charge for early Tech inspection and it makes the first morning of the event much smoother for the drivers. Simply call our shop for an appointment and we'll knock it out for you.
Can I throw the M out there? If so I will talk to Aly about maybe heading down. My parents and I have talked about it some too.
Robert, I am handling the registrations for this, Ill post a PDF of the registration form on here for you
I would love to bring my mach 1 to one of these, but i just can't justify the price to get my car ready, get the gear, and rent a hotel...it would be well over a grand for me. take some video so i can pretend i was there!
Jim, This is an event that is worth a vacation day! the price for renting Robeling road continues to go up, but our event prices have remained relatively flat. (but they have gone up as well). by the time you factor in Insurance for the FCA, and the track rental its easlily well over 10K just to get to the track. FOA continues to subsidize almost half the price, so the FCA needs to generate the other half. We don't do one day packages, because you have to rent the track for 2 day min, so we made the decison to offer only one track pacakge. However you can participate on a daily basis as a non driver. I hope you will come on out! I hope folks realize that running track meets is getting more and more expensive, and we are trying to keep the cost as reasonable as possible. Road Atlanta is up to $25K per day! which makes it almost impossible to host a regional event. The club has to place a deposit in advance with no refund so we are on the hook for a pretty substantial amount, thus our cost structure is pretty well fixed. ok, I'm off the soap box, now ya'll come on out and play!!!!
We can and have in the past offered a few 1 day packages, but they are about 2/3 the cost. If you can only come for 1 day, call me and we can discuss it. Remember to get you r car inspected before coming, INSTALL HI-TEMP BRAKE FLUID, and check your tires for speed rating! We still have about 15 opening left so come have some fun! This is a Ferrari Club event and anyone that wishes to bring something non-Ferrari needs to have it approved by our track committee.
Henry, if the truck isn't full you are welcome to a spot. I'll get Kevin to check and PM you. Hope you can be there.
Will, I think there are 3-4 people that want their cars trailered in addition to your full transport. How big is Jimmy's trailer?
It's a single car hauler. If I have another 6 confirmed and ready to cover transportation up front, I'll get another truck. Please let us know. It will require a full load of six cars to make it work and I will need to know quickly.
i'm new to the Ferrari world. Have a 430 Scuderia. I would love to participate in your event if there is still room. Please let me know. Gary C. Pennington
