Not loving the frontal view. On the web site there is a 3/4's view which is much better.

The interior is gorgeous. The seats are more angular and sharp (slightly remeniscent of the Gallardo), unlike the smooth Daytona seats in the F430. Then again, this could be the sport seat option. The initial launch pictures showed a tan interior. The interior in these pictures is black. There is also a design pattern on the seats which appears to be a straight line down the centre of the entire seat.

Overall, the interior is unique to the 458. I like it.

Strange thing, the speedo....Its in the right display, so when you move through the menu, you can't see the speed.

i think some of the pics, as usual, don't do it justice as seeing it in real life. although i loved all the initial 'teaser' shots, some of these new glam shots are less than desirable. not liking that silver/brushed aluminum piece running along the side of the car. perhaps they will make a carbon piece as an option!

+1 on the silver ground effects/rocker panel. I hope that that is merely a protective covering of some sort. I was hoping to see the 458 at the Galleria Ferrari between Sept.9 and Sept. 11. This latest info. from Ferrari indicates that the 458 will be on display at the Galleria beginning Sept. 15, the date of the first Frankfurt press showing. Since I will have already left Maranello, I hope that I will catch a glimpse of the 458 on the road or entering/leaving the factory gates. Fred

    Nice!

I like the interior, big improvement over the F430.

I'm not sure. And, the engine compartment is too clean. I want to see stuff.

That engine compartment looks fine to me, Its just overly dark in the picture to set mood; I'm sure the headers, plumbing, etc will be visible... the intake box looks nicely formed (reminds me of the gruppe-m F430 intake design.)

I'm also liking the driver-focused interior design very much. Very minimalist in a way the 430 was not.

Anyone else notice the 'throw back' styling cue of the dash design?

Here you are right. Don't follow Audi... the R8 engine compartment looks like a hotwheel. Instead of being a plus, I think it is an embarrassment (and that's from an Audi fan).

The 360/430 coupes are absolutely the pinnacle in engine display in any car, partially because you see an ENGINE, not a bunch of plastic covers.

I think the track shot in post #15 is particularly flattering, but I still have some issues with the upswept panels that end at the backlight. The front shot is reminiscent of a Gallardo that has been tweaked in a wind tunnel. Fred

Add me to this list. I really liked the inital photo's but now that we are seeing a "real car" it doesn't look as good. The gaps around the headlights look awful and the shot from above looks like a current 430. I guess the crap they caught from the Cali design made them go more conservative on the 458
