He said he would not allow R and T to have another of his cars for testing. They wore out a set of tires and burned out the clutch and at first refused to replace any of it. They finally bought him a set of tires but would do nothing about the clutch, probably due to the cost of it...........Too bad for them. He has a lot of interesting cars.........including a 2wd Diablo. Go find one of those somewhere..........

I certainly would have had a written agreement with R&T on that stuff. You can't tell me that he didn't actually THINK R&T would wear his clutch out? COME ON! Some of the journo's even TALK about how they wear out clutches and pretty much abuse the test cars... The only way to get the best times out of a car are hard launches that will TOAST the clutch.

Still that SUCKS that R&T would not make it right! Figures!

If you knew him you would understand. He is very open and honest and will do anything to help anyone out. He assumed that they would repair anything they broke. They will not get another of his cars to test.

You would really like him. He just handed me the keys in exchange for the keys to my 328 demonstrator. He was in town going through helicopter refresher training at Bell in Hurst, Texas. He let me have the car for the three days he was here. He just said, "do not make me cry, I am self insured". I still remember it vividly today and it was 10 years ago......
