    Translation:

[Photo caption:] Kimi Räikkönen assures that he’ll find a F1 car to drive next season.

It has already been speculated in the pits for a long time that Räikkönen would be terminated by Ferrari after this season but Kimi has always assured that his contract will cover next season as well.

    - I have a contract for next season and that is all I can tell you. It feels that everyone else worries about it more than I do. As I’ve said before I have a contract to drive at Ferrari next season. If something else happens, it is not my decision, Räikkönen says.

However, Räikkönen drops a hint for the first time during the MTV3 interview that continuation of his F1 career is possible with some other team than Ferrari, if his assignment at Ferrari ends.

    - I will sure find a car at these pits if I want to. It is no problem whatsoever. Of course it will depend on many other factors as well. Lets see what everyone decides to do and how it will end. There are always all kinds of stories floating around but I just won’t bother myself with them, Räikkönen comments to MTV3.

Do you want to find a car for next year?

    - Well I do have a contract too. I wouldn’t have agreed to a contract if I didn’t want to drive. Of course it depends on many different things, whatever happens. Lets worry about it in due time. We’ll look at things sometimes later, Kimi answers.

Räikkönen has collected 24 WC points during the season and holds a seventh spot in the series.

    - I’ve done my best in every race but I’ve had a few races where I was not fully satisfied. But that is how it goes in this sport. I doubt anyone will have a season where they are fully satisfied with every race and that applies to me too. Overall, I’m quite happy with my races considering the limitations of our car. Of course we will always want to win too but with this package it just has not been possible, Kimi comments.

    Comment:

It sure sounds like Ferrari is in the hook for Kimi's full salary whether he drives for them next season or not. I cannot help but love his no BS style even if he's not the most articulate guy around in ANY language.

    Thanks for the translation.

Yes, I too admire Kimi's very straightforward attitude - it's a shame more drivers aren't like that.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Kimi has always been my favorite driver. He doesn't play the media's game or takes part in the BS that F1 has become. Kimi is a straight up driver and a bad @$$ too. Not to mention a WDC.

What's the latest with his Rallying rumors? Ferrari should rightfully move cautiously when discussing next season. Depending on who's doing the talking, Massa is somewhere between returning next week and never racing again. If they're too quick to pull the plug on Kimi they could find themselves looking for a second driver as well.

Sounds like F would probably like to cut him loose but Massa's situation is up in the air. In the meantime Kimi still wants to race. As long as someone is willing to pay him he'll continue his solo act.

Kimi and Alonso would be an explosive team and fun to watch. Still I hope Massa gets better.

Don't forget the concept of teams running three cars.

Alonso would never go for it, he learned his lesson at McLaren.

My dream pairing for 2010 would actually be Kimi and Hamilton at McLaren. #1. Kimi's speed would really be tested like never before. #2. McLaren would absolutely demolish the field, Ferrari included, regardless of the outcome of the WDC battle between the two of them. I'm really hoping they'll find the money and that Merc gets over their German obsession. But if Williams gets Merc engines and Nico stays put...you'll never know...

Kimi back at Mclaren would annoy me. No doubt he'd win more (especially if next years Ferrari is still a dog), which i'd like, but then its Mclaren winning, which are the tifosi's arch enemy!

    Big dilemma...

Frankly I think Kimi is really an average driver who lucked into the world championship. he WAS good, but I think he is past it. As for his no bs stance... he almost says nothing? so how is that no BS? Its just really nothing.

I think it will be Alonso and Massa... Riakkonen will have to go somewhere else and the price of road cars will go to pay for the Kimster

I could frankly care less. To me it would illuminate one thing. Who sucked? Ferrari, Kimi or both. I'm becoming more and more convinced that it is Ferrari that would end up looking mighty bad if Kimi returned to McLaren.

Ferrari was carried for many years by MS/Todt/Brawn and their "unlimited" budget. No brainer right ?

After Kimi's WDC he seems to have lost motivation unless his car is perfect. I dont think he's a team player. Ever see a pic of him and MS laughing and slapping each other on the back ?

Now comes Alonso. Even though I dont care for him; he will have his chance at forging the same dynasty that MS did.

And I bet that after Team Brawn runs out of cash, which they will surely do as it seems that getting a main sponsor is not a priority and the Honda severance benefits have run out, Brawn ends up back at Ferrari.

If the budget rules allow it Ferrari will pay Kimi to leave unless the three car rule comes into effect.

    The new Ferrari.

Well, some people in these parts buy into the BS by LaHaye and Jenkins too. But who am I to judge.

Kimi doesn't bother wasting time. He gets in the car, drives, does a briefing and does his own thing. He doesn't care about his public image since its BS 99% of the time anyways. People very often say that he has motivation but in reality, he hasn't! Forget looking at where a car is placed this season on the grid, look a bit further than that. Look at the lap times. It's incredibly close this year, and with the Ferrari being a turd both Kimi and Massa have done a great job getting the car in the top 10 even.

If the FIA didn't intervene where Ferrari placed their KERS (it was incredibly quick before it had to be placed somewhere else, quicker than the Red Bulls and Brawns by a long shot) they would be winning races with ease. However, since FIA did intervene, the Ferrari was destined to be a turd and with no testing allowed anymore it left them a tall ladder to climb to develop the car. [/QUOTE]
Its the same thing with Hakkinen all over again. I was a big fan of him, shame he drove for Ron Dennis though! I will support Kimi though. Ferrari, Mclaren or WRC. Doesn't matter where he drives.

It's hard to tell what really motivates the guy? Possibly the fact that he's got the full team's attention and a "nothing to lose" position now has lit a fire in him. I think mentally he's in a good spot for a 1 or 2 finish this weekend.

    +1 again.

The car isn't capable of winning unless kimi has a good stroke of luck, for instance the two front runners colliding. The best driver can only do so much unfortunately.
