I have heard from one of my clients that he is getting dumb answers when it comes to delivery times of his Stebro exhaust system. Another dealer I know is being jerked around as well. Now mind you this not a supplier but the factory.

Anybody else out there that is not getting what they shout from the manufacturer of a Ferrari exhaust?

Thank God I don't deal with them because the story I heard so far I would be screaming and yelling through the phone on the stories why they are delayed.

I have read some horror stories about Stebro. My mechanic told me to stay away as they aren't made that particularly well. For my Dino, I learned at the CI that ANSA is remaking the 246gt exhaust once again. That will be my choice... heck the last one lasted 30 years it seems.

check the archives martin - all sorts of horror stories about factory timing. they've apparently been in the middle of a "big move" for quite some time now!

They're reported as somewhat slow (they don't necessarily stock but instead mostly build to order) but I'm VERY VERY happy with mine. It took about 3 weeks to get here, shipped from Canada. I dealt with Dan Petschenig there. They give a 10% discount to FCA members.

I know we've covered this before, but, I had great success with Stebro, getting my exhaust took about 2-3 weeks.

Dan was helpful, although not always available. And, it sounds excellent.

Here's a short movie of the Dino with the stebro installed.

I had the opportunity to visit the Stebro shop last week and was quite impressed with their setup. I did not know that they have been in business since 1956. They have templates for most exotic cars from that time forward. They are a small shop, every system is hand made. There are no systems sitting in inventory so when you order you are put in a queue and your system is manufactured when it gets to the top of the list.
I've ordered a system for my 348 with test pipes.
I'll let you know how it goes.

Last year I bought a Stebro system for my '94 348. It was delivered in about a month. I ordered another Stebro system for my Testarossa in early August and Dan said it should ship this Friday . . . again, about a month.
The 348 system had a great sound and I'm really looking forward to the install on the TR.
I'll keep everyone updated on the delivery time.

Obviously there are many happy customers....and a few unhappy ones...no big deal, unless you happen to be the unhappy one. In spite of the many happy customers, there appears to be enough unhappy ones to give one pause before giving up your hard earned dollars. Here's another "unhappy one" posted just today in the Technical section:
    http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28857

I would warn anyone thinking of dealing with Stebro to reconsider...there have just been too many of these threads about poor customer service, delays and lack of communication. Just my observation.....

I ordered and paid for a Stebro exhaust system directly from Stebro for my Ferarri one month ago. Despite repeated calls to the factory complaining about the delay in receiving my system, I have yet to be satisfied with their response and I have yet to receive my system.

I would NEVER do business with them again and I urge caution to anyone contemplating purchasing a Stebro exhaust system. The company is not reliable.

Do a search, Brudda...plenty of folks had trouble, my take is .....eventually you get your stuff!

I run ANSA on all my cars, but order them plenty of time before they are needed......

I love my Stebro S.S. system on my 365 GT 2+2. The sound is different than the original ANSA but I like it better. I should have moved a couple of hangers but it fit so I didn't. After going through two ANSA systems in 22 years (but only 4,000 km), I'm happy to look forward to never replacing the system again. Time is worse than mileage on original ANSA systems. It took a few weeks to arrive but when it did, it was really well made and inspires confidence. A little black High Temp paint and some ANSA stickers and nobody should see the difference except when the rust is supposed to start showing but doesn't.

I ordered an X pipe from Stebro a few months ago and it was delivered to me in about 3 weeks.
The quality was excellent, the price was good (got a discount as a FCA member) and installation was a breeze.
The sound is great and I believe I found a few horses in the process.
Now I am ready to replace my Tubi end mufflers with 2 Stebro.
I would not hesitate to recommend them.

This guy Dan Petch-me-off is a piece of work. He tells me he is going to have the last part in my hand this week every week. He still owes me an exhaust manifold from over a year ago now. I ordered the complete set with muff. He sent me one or two pieces at a time and it's now been over a year. He is a jack-arss. I am now doing a back round check on where he lives. I have found three address's from buss. to home, I am going to go up to Greely and Manotick, and get whole unless the last piece gets to me first.

I had a horrible time with Dan as well. Took two months of pestering (and ultimately threatening to have my CC revoke my payment to him) to get my Stebro exhaust -- and this was a system that was apparently display and therefore in-stock! When it finally arrived, it appeared to be reasonably well built.

I still haven't installed it so I can't vouch for the fit, but the welds look nice and quality looks good.

I have the feeling that with enough phone calls and threats, you'll eventually get what you want from Dan/Stebro. But is it really worth the hassle and stress? I wouldn't do it again, that's for sure.

I know Stebro have excellent quality work once you get you order if you get your order BUT,
why do people still insist of getting STEBRO, aren't there other brand/company that also have good quality exhaust with better customer service like Tubi, X-ost, Larini, Capristo, Mille Miglia, Ansa, CNC,?

The systems I've seen by them looked like a high school shop project (that got a "C"). Not very impressed but it was a lot cheaper than Tubi.

I have nothing bad to say about Stebro, but now have a Borla exhaust system. My euro 308 came with 3 exhaust systems from previous owners and Federalization. I changed it around and even mixed it up with some custom welded areas and removed cats. Now, I have all-Borla and I'm satisfied with the sound.

well.. I loved my stebro on my 355. however... I did buy it used with about 100 miles on it for about 600 bucks... so... not really alot to complain about. i would say that the exhaust was very well constructed. I have ZERO complaints about construction. All of the welds were very nice and the system was nicely polished and the sounds was great... but not capristo great. You didn't really get to enjoy the music in the car... but everyone around me said it sounds beautiful. i loved it especially for the price...

moral of the story... buy a used one... best deal in the world. Problem is... they are hard to find since most peoples are still "on order" (sorry couldn't resist the jab)

I bought a stainless Stebro exhaust for my Dino (Fiat variety) and when it finally came about 2 months later than it was supposed to, it was immediately obvious it would not fit.

I called them and they said of course it would fit, its a perfect fit for my car, I insisted it would not fit but got nowhere. I went out and actually measured the system and it was close in that all the curves were correct, as far as the eye can see anyway but the rear pipes would have stuck out the back of the car about 16 inches, the problem is in the middle section, its too long. Called them back and talked to the same guy :( and finally got him to listen, he put me on hold and came back and said, sorry we must have made and sent you a Dino Coupe exhaust, not a Spider exhaust, the front and rear will fit, you just need to take it to a muffler shop and have them cut the middle section and re-weld it, I said no, just send me a new middle section, they would not. Finally they offered to take off $300 to pay for the muffler shop to cut/weld the middle section.

Lots of arguing and I finally gave in and took their $400 (went up a $100 as I argued but felt I could not get it higher), muffler shop quoted me a flat $100 to do the job but then I did some research on welding stainless and you have to purge the pipe and fill it with inert gas or it will be a weak weld, I am very positive the muffler shop would not have done that, so the exhaust sits.

In the end, its ok, I heard a Dino with this exhaust and did not like the sound anyway, it was incredibly awesome at idle but at the revs it was way too tinny and ear peircing, I am told that is the stainless that causes it. I found a NOS stock system and while its quieter than I would like, I love the sound.

Just a note that my new Stebro exhaust for my 348 TS fit just fine and sounds great. No resonance or drone at driving speed, good idle sound and a decent whine when you step on the loud pedal. That is the good news.
The bad news is the quality of the product. The tips have few welding nerds on the exterior and the chrome was discolored on delivery.
No lectures please on why I didn't return it......... long story. Looks like once again, the Fchat community needs to steer clear of these guys.

Hello gentlemen, my name is Sergiy Blazhko, i have been working with Stebro for over 7 years. First of all i want to say thanks for the support of satisfied users, people like systems that we do, I'm glad to hear that, Ferrari line is our biggest seller. Also wanted to thank people that address concerns here, it's important for US to know where we can get better. Thanks to the person that made this topic, he gave me a chance to bring honest answers to the questions addressed to company ''STEBRO''.
We moved from Greely to Nepean, totally new cleaner and bigger place, took a while to do that with all the OEMs, jigs and machinery so i want personally to say sorry to the people that had time wait problems because of our production slowdown.
At the end of spring we usually get LOADED with orders, so what we did to improve our delivery time is we hired more people to build the exhaust at the high season, this helps us a lot in getting systems delivered in time.
I have started working as assembler of Alfa Romeo systems for ''STEBRO'', went to school for TiG and MiG welding, after i finished i moved up to can making and let me tell ya, for 7 years i have done absolutely everything that has to do with exhaust making. Now I'm working part time on making exhausts and Full Time on distribution. Thanks to Dan, president of the company, proud father of 4 kids, he gave me this opportunity to do it.

WELCOME, and congrats on your personal success in the company!

Maybe you could help Mike out, on restocking his FIAT Dino exhaust??
