You must be referring to Ivan Capelli who had that horrid partial season in 92. In 88 and 89 he had some great races for March...years later Capelli's poor performance at Ferrari vs. brilliant designs winning races from the March's designer showed that the 88 success was down to the March designer...Adrian Newey. Amazing how hindsight changes perspective on things.
