355 Bypass valve vacuum tidbit

    Just an information tidbit. Today I tested my O.E.M. exhaust bypass valve for the 355. It's a fairly new valve (less than 1 year old) and does not have many miles on it.

    Looked like it took 1.0~1.5 inches of Mercury for it to just barely begin to open.

    It took a vacuum of 8 inches of Mercury to open it fully (as shown on my Mityvac tester).

    Probably of no significance but---check was done with the valve off the car and at room temperature.
