Looks like he's not leaving eh? Luca Badoer believes that he can score points at Monza next month if he retains his seat despite being classified last in the Belgian Grand Prix. The Italian, who returned to F1 racing after almost a decade as a test driver at last week's European Grand Prix, is tipped to be replaced for the Italian Grand Prix. But Badoer believes that the experience he has built up over the past two weekends means he is now ready to fight for a top eight finish. "In Monza, I will start with the aim to get in the points," said Badoer. "I am sure that I can get a good result there. It's one of the tracks that we do a lot of testing at. At Mugello, Fiorano and Monza I could close my eyes! "Monza is my home track. I have a lot of experience and I think that the Ferrari will still be my car there. "This weekend generally was positive and I have much more experience than in Valencia. Now I feel like I have always been racing in F1. "With this race now, I'm ready. I feel comfortable, I have a good feeling for the car and I think Monza will be a good result. The 38-year-old believes that a strong result in Monza is the best way to deal with the pressure put on him by the media for his performances in the last two races. "The pressure will go away with a good result," said Badoer. "We are just waiting for a good result. Kimi won the race, so it's very good for Ferrari, for the spirit and for all the people that are working here and at home. "We knew straight away after Felipe's accident that it was not an easy situation. But today we won the race and in Monza we both have a chance to have a good race."
Probably does know he's not going to be racing. Neither did Bourdais until he was sacked by texted lol.

I was watching the live timing today, as I could not watch the race. He was purple in sector 1 and consitently as quick as anyone competitive even with the fastest in sector and dreadfully off the pace in sector 2, lap after lap - consistenly 2 seconds off everyone else's pace. While most people have made up their minds, maybe there is some hope.
All that really means is that his car had little downforce dialed into the wings: That's why he is fast in sector 1 and 3 and struggles through the turns in sector 2. Which is no surprise as he was fastest through the speed trap on Saturday. It doesn't mean there is hope; it just means that he hasn't figured out how to get to a compromise setup. Which is rather strange for a test driver. You're a software guy? Just play Grand Prix 4 on the PC and you'll see the setup challenges Spa offers.
I've decided to ask a team to give me a contract to that I can race there also. I believe I can score points. Seriously, I understand his sentiment around it being one of "his" tracks, but there is a huge difference between driving fast and racing and the latter is what he's not very good at. He really is in a class with Ide when it comes to unwillingness to engage another racer to compete for position.
Sector 1 is the 1st corner/La source(kers boosted) and Eau Rouge(flatout) and it ends just before the braking point at the end of the straight not much to get wrong. When you add some proper corners he is dead last. He did the same thing in practice anyway he wasn't impressing anyone getting purple S1 in the race.
I will give it a try, but I bought the WII Ferrari Race game with the steering wheel that you put the Nunchuck accross. I don't do so well, I crash most of the time. Speedcore's explaination made sense to me - Kers in Sector 1. I mistyped in my previous post so I will restate, it also looked like his sector 3 times were about the same as the other drivers also. It was sector 2 that he was 2+ seconds off the pace each lap. Looks to me as if there are twenty or twenty-one turns on spa. Not sure where the sectors begin/end but can estimate based on times. Looks like there are plenty of turns at the end of sector 3 into sector 1.
