I also rarely read fiction. It doesn't satisfy my thirst for information. But I usually get 3-5 library books every month, of which I usually read two and skim a third. Last few reads were law specific including Scalia's new Making Your Case, but also Stein on Writing (again - superb book), currently reading OG Mandino's The Greatest Salesman (brain programming), which I'm not enjoying as much as Think and Grow Rich.

For me, this tread has turned into what I am "buying" as oppose to reading. This weekend I found a few books at Goodwill, including something Russian: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=138781775#post138781775.

I first stopped by Goodwill on Friday and noticed Porter/Competitive Strategy and Watson/Father, Son. I'd never heard of the Watson book but Porter sounded familiar. Instead of spending the $2 (+ tax) total I went home for a little research. I found the Porter book listed on Jim Collins' recommended list, which I'd previously bookmarked: http://www.jimcollins.com/tools/recommended-reading.html and I found the Watson book in this NY Times article when I Googled "great business books": http://executivesuite.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/07/17/the-best-business-books-ever/. I just realized that the Watson book is also listed on Collins' list.

It's a book from a dog's point of view about his owner Denny and all the things they go through. When I type this, it sounds like a kids book, but it's really not. It's a very very good book to me and I really dislike reading.

Just findished reading the Harry Potter series for the second time, I was never a fan until my girlfriend told me how good the books were and although I have seen the movies which are good the books really are a hell of alot better!
Also THE STRAIN by Guillermo Del Toro(PANS LABRYNTH) and CHUCK HOGAN a vampire book buy actually quite good I thought and the first book in a Three book series.
Also by complete accident a book call "The Book With No Name" by ANONYMOUS which just happens to be another vampire book, which was entertaining and fast-paced like the previous books I mentioned.
And once the 7th Potter book is done for the second time which should be tonight i'm going to start "Deception Point" by Dan Brown, controversial authour of "The DaVinci Code"

That was an amazing book! There is also a great 2 hour documentary (done by the History Channel I think) about it.

I wrote down a lot books many of you recommended and my goal is to have read most of them by the end of 2010.

This weekend I picked up two:

Lords of Finance - Thanks for the recommendation Chris, I've only read the Introduction and it appears it will be as good as you say.

Think and Grow Rich - picked one up for my friends birthday as well.
