This thread certainly gave me a monday morning laugh! Please, oh please can we have someone else in the car at Monza. Does anyone remember when a Ferrari finished last in two consecutive races....I cant.

Fortunately last place to 8th is not a huge leap guys. Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that the field was separated by less than a second with regards to lap times...until Badoer showed up at least.

After Kimi's drive today and the "performance" of the car I can't seriously see Ferrari keeping the guy. They get money based on constructors standings and if they keep racking up last place finishes they're not going to be getting any points (duh). IMO there are plenty of drivers that would have a better chance at getting the Ferrari up into 8th other than the snail they have in the seat now.

Well, Luca didn´t perform the way we hoped he would in Belgium either, you will have to have a good explanation to finish last when your teammate wins. Even if his qualifying positions was way behind (which also is worrying) and given the overtaking possibilities in current F1,you really can´t see any hunger from Luca to show that he is the man for Ferrari....
I think he has by now showed that either 10 years is too long to be out of racing, 38 years is too old or that he simply hasn´t got what it takes. You choose.

So who will Ferrari choose to race the remaining races then?
I think that it is quite complicated. First, they will not replace KR this year and the possibility that FM comes back before next season (or at all) is slim. The reason for having LB at all was only to buy themselves some time in order to get contractual issues sorted.

I think that they wanted Fernando Alonso from the moment that FM had his accident, but Renault will simply not release him this season. Sadly, Michael Schumacher will not come back, and Marc Gene makes no sense now.
What they have to decide is if they really want KR at all, and get a 100% statement from FM´s doctors whether he can race next year or not. Otherwise they could pay Renault whatever they wanted and place FA in the #2 car already now, to compete in the remaining races as "testing sessions" for 2010. Then they have the second driver for 2010 in place.
If FM comes back he can have the other car, if not they have the opportunity to keep KR, they already signed his contract for 2010 and the last races have been really good.

IMHO Fisichella would only come into contention if they want to get rid of KR no matter what, and FM retires.
The drivers we are talking about is only FA,KR and FM. That is the way I think Gestione Sportiva thinks right now.

On the other hand, if they want to buy some more time and keep all options open they could give GF a call, let him do a couple of races (he wouldn´t say no thats for sure) and based on his performances take a decision about a third car, a testing role or a raceseat for 2010 if (as I said before) they let go of KR and FM. GF has all his life wanted to race for Ferrari and they would probably get him for next to nothing. He has also proved that he has got what it takes to do a reasonable performance in a 2009 car.
I doubt that GF would say no, but he will require some kind of guarantee to race next year for Ferrari or to come back to Force India.

But once again, the only real contenders for Ferrari 2010 are FA,FM and KR.

I think Fisi could be given a provisional seat that doesn't guarantee anything past this season (or even to the end of this season for that matter). The only question is would he give up what he has now for only a few races in a red car with no guarantee either way.

    Really? Can you elaborate?

I always thought it was down to the greedy dwarf.

At any rate, I can't wait for the new F1 game on PS3 coming out next year.

I would say the same, but my PS3 died after the 2.40 firmware update. Since I have an early machine, Sony wants to hit me for $150 extra to repair it (even though everyone knows their update crashed systems out).

I hear they have it on X-Box also. I think I'm done with Sony.

Dont give up on the PS3: It is the only box with real force feedback, which you need for racing games. I have also an XBox360 and it feels like a toy compared to the PS3 for racing games.

Besides: My PS3 is doing fine, but I already had to replace the XBox360 after it died with a red ring. At my cost.

Haha, I just like blaming Max for everything :p You're right FOM is really at fault for making it an exclusive to Sony, but even before that exclusive GP series had conditions that meant they couldn't do everything they wanted.

The new game is coming to all platforms which is great(actually the rumour is that the PS3 version is delaying the game to next year). Tho its suppose to be 2009 rules so KERS cars should be included. I wonder if people will have the same KERS arguments in online games

Not sure he is still on planet earth. No one on Fchat can do worse - last in every category. We all can depress a pedal to go fast in a straight line

Badoer is aiming for points at Monza?

Oh, I just realized he was referring to his FantasyF1 team. Smart move, Luca, in picking Grosjean as a test driver this year.

The F1 game is a much better certainty than GT5: GT5 has been announced too many times to be believed.

I got so tired of F1 Challenge, that I stopped mid season this year.
