It's better, but the raw prices are not that different on an absolute level (relative, yes). Meaning a $30 pair of department store jeans might have a raw cost of $2.50, and $150 jeans cost $12. I'm just throwing some numbers around, but you see the relationship: on a raw level the designer jeans cost 4x to make, but on the whole the margins on "fashion" brands are pretty extreme.

So instead of spending $59 for a "Whoever Is Cool Today After Ed Hardy Jumped The Shark" t-shirt, I end up going to Champs and buying 5 t-shirts for $20 and basic cotton polos 2 for $14. (and even then I think, "man, these tees are only .37 cents a piece wholesale LOL).

The margins in fashion are big because supporting the brand image is great. Nobody has any expectation of the Walmart brand of a product compared to the luxury brand.

If you have to ask how much, you can't afford it.
If you have to ask why, you don't deserve it.

Tom Ford as a fashion businessman, I'll just say he is a hero on many levels for what he did with Gucci. His clothes, well they are not for 99.9999% of the people on this forum. It is for the 20-something jetset crowd that have more money and style than responsibility to something like a 9-5 job working at Mcdonald's.

Tom Ford is to Hollywood club kids, what Ed Hardy t-shrts are to ******bags with exotic cars. I get it, but I'd never wear either.

I'm a huge Tom Ford fan. One of my fav designers of all time.

I have tons of significant pieces from his old Gucci lines.

If your wondering who wears Tom Ford...His average client is in his 40's or older
not 20 year olds. I'm sure there are a few 20 year olds who wear it. But that is not his average client.

If you wondering what the pricing for his clothes is like...well a pair of socks are 69 dollars or so.
His suits start at about $ 3500 dollars for a standard off the rack suit.

His clothes also arent a full italian cut suit. They are a mix between a Italian suit and more so a English cut.

They just starting carrying a few pieces from his line in LA...

Just found another Brand in LA using the same business model, by the guy who licensed Air Fresheners etc. for Ed Hardy.

Step one: Find the Artist (creative talent), then license the &#$% out of his work.

Check out their products, need car cleaner? Beer? Or toothpaste? It's amazing what they offer...

I first saw their Logo on a 430 and R8 (marketing)

I look spot on during the winter in my long coat. It's a family build, we are all thin framed. If history repeats itself, I will start to broaden and fill out once I reach my mid/late 30's.

That stuff is ugly. Anyone who uses the words "couture" and "rock 'n' roll" in the same sentence clearly does not understand the ideology behind either one.

Kudos to the marketing experts making money off the lemmings who buy this ****.

The f430 with the decals was at my friends bday party last night. I guess the F430 owner let his girlfriend drive the car to the party.
