My wife and i are escaping for labor day weekend. Staying in Southampton. So where to eat? Who knows better than all of you? Thanks, Dave
I don't recommend the food there at all, even though sitting on Main St. is nice. My suggestions for Main St. dining is Sant Ambroeus, very good, but a bit pricey. Worth it in my opinion though. www.santambroeus.com Also very good in Southampton is Red Bar. If you want to go to Watermill, just 5 minutes away try Trata. PM me if you need some more suggestions I live in Southampton
oh, and with the crowds this weekend it would be a good idea to call some places ASAP and make reservations.
We ate at Stone Creek Inn located in East Quogoe, we thought it was very good http://www.stonecreekinn.com/index.php enjoy
I have not been in a while but Gordons in Amagansett was really good. Also if you have not been to Duryea's in Montaulk for a Lobster Roll you must for lunch. Drivers Seat is good for burgers and did have great Prime Rib.
I am a resident of Sag Harbor and run a gallery in East Hampton. Each village has a few good restaurants so I will name a few here. By the way whats going on this weekend with a Ferrari Run? Sag Habor: American Hotel restaurant- steaks, seafood, fantastic ambience and bar scene with outdoor dining, pricey, reservations required Sen- Japenese cuisine, outside dining, great scene and food! B.Smiths- waterside dining, great bar, nice people and yacht watching, great raw bar East Hampton: Cittanuova- sidewalk, indoor and garden dining, great Italian food, excellent people watching Rowdy Hall- great burgers, salads, rustic, affordable Nick & Toni's- ultimate scene-celeb crowd with great food and bar Della Femmina's- great continental and Italian cuisine, excellent crowd, nice bar Bridgehampton: Pierre's- Excellent French cafe with sidewalk tables and great people watching, also great pastries Bobby Van's- iconic Hamptons eatery with great steaks and seafood, fantastic bar scene, indoor and sidewalk dining, great crowd and people watching! World Pie- great pizza's, pasta's and live jazz music
Juan, not sure which car im taking yet. Just noticed the rally, looks like a great time! Not arriving from the ferry in time to make it i believe, so ill have to pass. Hope your enjoying the 348! Dave
Shagwong- Montauk Harvest - Montauk Cyril's - Amagansett Nick & Toni's- East Hampton Driver's Seat- Southampton
These are the 2 places i made reservations for. Was a little late in doing so. Might try to hit Nick & Tonis later Saturday evening for drinks. Ill be driving my black Mondial coupe. Keeping my eyes open for a gaggle of Fcars in the rally, as i get come in tomorrow
have fun!! i was going to suggest the Lobster Roll (aka LUNCH) Or try this other restaurant in Southampton, don't remember its name but there are fish tanks separating the booths from the tables.
in response to your ???, I am sure everyone knows about LUNCH on the side of the rode in Amagansett. The other restaurant has these small fish tanks separating the booths from the tables. The restaurant also has these incredible garlic knots! That's the best way I can describe the restaurant without recalling its exact name.
If you're still checking this link, try Oasis on Noyac rd. in sag harbor. It's near where bridgehampton race track used to be. Waterfront, casual, excellent menu - steak, seafood, etc. Definitely a hideaway which has been there for years now. Not somewhere to go if you're out to be seen or celebrity-spotting.
Great weekend away. Nice to treat Fspotters there to a rare Mondial coupe! Not some run of the mill 360, 430, 599 etc...!!! Had lunch at 75 Main St. Saturday when we first pulled into town ( it was too easy to plug that in my GPS when my wife asked what was for lunch!). Soon after heard the roar of many a Ferrari coming thru. It must have been the rally im thinking? Hope you guys had fun. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dave: Sounds like you had a great time and certainly the weather could hardly have been better. Maybe a little warmer but the water, even in the ocean, is very warm this time of year. You had a lot of great suggestions all over the Hamptons and, if you acted on half of them, you would have put some serious miles on the Mondial as you shuttled between Southampton and Montauk and everywhere in between! We rented a summer house in East Hampton for many years and since then have always stayed with friends at least a week out there each summer. The beaches are fantastic and the air is beautifully clean and fresh. Because of the schedules of my daughters' various sports activities and other things, this was the first time in at least 25 years that we weren't able to get out to EH, even for a few days. Boy did we miss it!
