    Beautiful. I sometimes wonder how much seeing these fly over during the 20s and 30s sort of planted the mental notions of south American UFOs?

    I can see where that would be a pretty spooky appirition if you had never heard of even a small airplane.

    The reproduction to screen looks washed out. If I remember, the colors were richer and more vivid. One of my favorites.

    I just saw a picture yesterday of an intrepid paraglider hanging from one arm of Jesus down there. Haven't found it on the net yet.

    Thanks, Terry. I worked up that background from a tiny little photo of Rio taken sometime in the early thirties when there were no highrises and big buildings. Reading the history of the Graff Zeppelin and of Hugo Eckner I was very impressed with the success of that machine and its commander.
