Carmel Arts & Design District Revs its Engine with Artomobilia
Outdoor festival includes collector car show, entertainment

CARMEL, Ind. – On Saturday, Sept. 12, more than 100 collectible cars spanning a century will gather in the Carmel Arts & Design District for the second-annual Artomobilia. From noon to 6 p.m., art aficionados and vintage car lovers alike can enjoy food, shopping and entertainment while celebrating the beauty and time-honored legacy of the automobile.

Showcasing classic American muscle of the 60s and 70s, as well as exotic imports and rare collectibles from every decade, Artomobilia is a salute to the best of automotive design on wheels and on canvas. During the event’s second-annual free car show, Lamborghinis, Aston Martins and Ferraris will line Main Street alongside Bentleys, Lotuses and DeSotos. Concours-style judging will spotlight cars deemed Best in Class in 16 categories ranging from historically preserved classics to racers. A special award will honor the vehicle voted Best in Show.

The 2009 Artomobilia will spotlight the Hudson – the marque selected in honor of the vehicle’s 100th anniversary. The Hudson will be showcased alongside the prized collections of car enthusiasts throughout the Midwest, including many notable names from Indiana’s automotive heritage, such as Auburn, Stutz and Studebaker.

Indy Cars & Coffee will continue as planned from 10-12 with an expected group to head to Carmel to check out those registered.

 

Bump for this weekend.

Indy C&C will still be happening for those not showing. Most will wander just up the road to Carmel to support the event and those regulars from C&C that will be showing in the event.

Weather.com is saying 78 degrees and SUNNY! WOOT!! Perfect weather for a car show.

 

We couldn't have ask for better weather for Artomobilia. So much cooler than last year.
