Is there a way to tie in an ipod to a Factory stereo on a 360? An aux input of some kind?
yes it is possible. There is a Becker kit for it. But it only works if you don't have the CDC connected.... Then, you need to choose.
I have tried two options: - use the Dension ice Link. Turns your first 6 playlists (of whatever size or length) into a CDC (as far as the becker unit is concerned). - wait for the display to start to go wrong (I didn't but you may find a few repetitive knocks on a table/the floor will help) and then get stereo replaced under warranty. The latest 430 unit is supplied and this has a MMC input. Even easier than an ipod.
Anybody know of a US-based place to buy that I-POD connector for the Becker stereo? I don't have the CD changer... Also, can you reach the back of the stereo to hook it up or does it have to be pulled out? If it has to be pulled out, how does one do that?
Very easy to do, and the plastic connector should already be attached to the back of theOEM radio. I have to check my info that is at home. So, I'll have to do later. Very simple two wire connection, and then you select the CD input on the Becker radio.
Just google Becker usa and there should be a dealer near you. You have to pull the head unit, but that takes all over 15 seconds - the connector comes with keys to remove it.
It's all pretty simple. To put it all in one place for anyone else who wants to do this: Becker USA: (201) 961-1399 - located in NJ Part #: 1319.116 Price: ~ $17.00 + S&H Keys and instructions to pull the head unit are included with the cable. Thanks to everyone for your help.
I'm curious to the functionality differences in using the Becker cable, as referenced above versus using the Dension Icelink system as described in the Prancing Horse article ... how to replace the CD player with an iPod adapter for my 2004 360. I would like to control my music from the stereo and keep my ipod tucked away. Does the Becker cable allow that? Thanks, -chris
