I don't want to misrepresent anything but as I read it Jr. complained that Flav had done things to disrupt one of his personal friendships. Flav responded that in reaction to a request made by Sr. he moved Jr out of a living arrangement he was sharing with a fifty-something bachelor friend into an apartment that he, Flav, owned. There were veiled suggestions of an undesirable relationship between Jr and his room mate. As I said good stuff. Please excuse me for taking none of this too seriously.
Of course Alonso knew and everybody in F1 knows that Alonso knew. It will be interesting to see what he has to say when the time comes. Even if he escapes punishment, his reputation is on the line. Or is there such a thing in F1?
Seriously can there be a good reputation anymore in this soap opera sport. Maybe Vettel? Who knows but to me, FA cannot just claim high ground here. If true it was done on his behalf and the situation with his fuel load is simply laughable to think he would not get it at all. FA is not a person who appears on the surface to be gullible or plain dense about things, especially racing.
This is not correct. Those that did not qualify in top ten were free to chose the starting fuel load, so Alonso's low fuel load at Singapore was not caused by a poorer than expected qualifying session.
Didn't Piquet Sr. spread rumors in the 80's that Senna was gay? There's a quote about the sins of the father that comes to mind but I can't remember it...
I thought it was Jr but given the time frame Sr makes more sense. Flav has referenced that point as well. Love them wacky racers
Alanso, has gotten away with similar items before. Like the Ferrari design fiasco.....he was receiving direct intel from his test driver....why would this be any different. FA will get off. Piquet howerver, has raced his last race.
He actually spun the car in the warm up lap before the race in Singapore, and was lucky he missed the wall, as I said earlier he was either getting some practise in for the real thing or he really is that bad.
on the "practice crash" he went really cloooose to the wall...i don't think he is talented enough to spun the car 1.5mm from the wall, even being the spinning prince.
Well MS won a WDC by crashing into another competitor ... can't get bigger than that!! Yes this is pre-Ferrari ... Pete
I still reckon it was dumb of Hill to overtake him. all MS did was stick to his line....maybe a dumb move in a disabled car, but considering what was at stake, a dumb move. Is that the crash you're talking about?
Yes this is the crash. Hill did not know, like you and I, that MS had already crashed and came upon MS very quickly ... it was pretty much avoidance action. So I can't really blame Hill too much there. Heck they sit so low in those cars and Adelaide is 80% blind corners. MS should not have stuck to his line in a disabled car ... but also (to be fair) it all happened quickly and who knows if he had been allowed to get around the next corner he might have parked it safely, or limped to the pits to retire. Oh heck now I've debated myself a full circle and supporting MS ... parking the car at Monaco showed his true colours though. Pete
the noose tightens on Flavio .. and I guess we will also find out if Fred knew anything. http://www.smh.com.au/news/sport/mot...780302545.html "Formula one's governing body has offered Renault's second-in-command immunity from punishment in exchange for full disclosure about "crashgate", a report said today. Pat Symonds, director of engineering at Renault, has been told that if he comes clean over how and why Nelson Piquet jnr drove his car into the barriers in Singapore in 2008, he will escape sanctions."
Soap opera drama..... Piquet Snr: Alonso must have known Tuesday 15th September 2009 - PlanetF1.com Nelson Piquet snr insists that Fernando Alonso must have been aware of the alleged plan to have Piquet jnr purposely crash at the 2008 Singapore GP. The former triple World Champion has implicated Alonso in the saga that could heavily taint the image of Formula One. "Fernando knew everything. He couldn't ignore it," Piquet told Spanish newspaper Diario Sport. The Brazilian went on to explain that, "If you are 15th on the grid at a street circuit, there is no point going out with no fuel. At most you will pass three cars and after your last stop you stay where you are. It's a senseless strategy." Renault have been summoned to appear before the FIA's Motor Sport Council in Paris on September 21 to answer the allegations that Piquet was asked to crash his car deliberately, with the crash bringing out the safety car which allowed Alonso to claim victory in the race. Both father and son have been vocal in their criticism of Renault following Piquet jnr's axing from the team earlier in the season, with many suggesting the pair are simply out for revenge. Bernie Ecclestone added credence to the claims when he told the newspaper, "Nelson told me that he is going to do everything he can to destroy Briatore."
Well, they'd know they'd have mad Max's support. And much of the FIA's, after Fab's role in the threatened FOTA break-away. Meanwhile, any updates on N.Technology's Lawsuit or Stefanovic's EU complaint about the new teams selection process? (Too many soaps in this opera.)
