Terry, I saw it on the list, just letting you know that one is in my hands at the moment--and for a long time to come. Is it your intent to just map these numbers or do you intend to create a provenance for the cars or something along those lines?

Rubi- My interest is purely technical. In the future when an owner wants to know what equipment is on his car, or is comparing two cars to purchase, the two lists will tell him what he has or what is on the two comparison cars. Plus whether they can be upgraded with later updates.

I am not a register guy, and that was never my intention. If you need technical information on a 575, hopefully this thread will have a lot of what you need. Some of which is in the WSM, and most of which is not. That is why I have published several technical bulletins, and will publish more in the future. Next is the latest iteration on how to measure the F1 reservoir fluid level.

Quite a bit of info on how to live with your 575, such as how the alarm system and remotes work, and tire pressure monitoring system basics, is here, and that info is not published anywhere else in a usable format except in FChat .

Carbon, however, is interested in all the color, ownership, etc details, so hopefully he is putting all of this in his database. He is the historian in this thread. Like a younger version of Marcel Massini.

You're right about that! Thank you, fou!

Yes, 129818, is a US car, ZFFBV55A720129818, Grigio Titanio with gray interior, shields, red calipers, for sale at The Chicago Toy Store last August, 6,950 miles, $129,800.

No, please don't narrow your focus! If you can get a Ferrari serial number we (I) don't care what it is! And I appreciate the dark red 550 you spotted earlier in the thread. :)

What? You are cataloging various information of cars based on their serial numbers? So, I could send you my serial number and you have my equipment specs, past for sale offerings, etc.? Or is it that I have to list my car and give you the specs to add to your list? Or what?

    Jay

Jay... Taz is our resident technical expert. If you want to know what it's like to drive a 575M, I can tell you. Beyond that, though, I wouldn't know an ECU flash from an F1 reservoir fluid flush. Terry knows everything.

But I keep a running database of all Ferraris - that is, all of the Ferraris that I can track down. I'm missing quite a few. But, yeah, if I have your car in my database, I'll tell what I know about its history if you give me the serial number. But since we already know that 138899 is yours, this is what I know...

I saw this car in 2004 at the French Quarter Classic. It was silver with charcoal interior, gray inserts, shields, modular wheels and black calipers. The following year, it was for sale in New Orleans; then again in '06 in Missouri; and again on Halloween in 2007 at Scottsdale. Then it was for sale in July of last year on eBay through iLux; then again in October through Maserati of Costa Mesa; and again in December through Luxury Motors, LLC, of Las Vegas - at that point, it had 10,011 miles.

Things were quiet on the car until this thread when Terry found three new sets of numbers while looking through the 575M/SA technical bulletins. The affected cars were between 137514 (assembly number 55063) and yours (56292).

So, if someone was looking into buyng a car, you would be the source to contact with possible information!

You are right about mine. It's also got the leather shelf and Bori exhaust. Sounds great. That's where I got it, at Luxury Motors in Las Vegas. On consignment, I believe. Didn't sell on ebay so I made them an offer they couldn't refuse!!! Too much, I suppose. I knew it was for sale for quite awhile. I attributed it to the economy. I think it was a fair deal. The actual owner was Scottsdale Ferrari. There was one private owner before that, so I'm considering it a one owner car!!

But the car seems just fine so far. Everything seems to be working just like it should. No problems at all except for the missing key fobs which I'm getting one cloned thanks to Taz's info. Taz, of course, couldn't be better if you need help.

A Scottsdale service report at 9989 miles (2/08) indicates Major engine service, inc. timing belts, t-belt idlers, drive belts, ball bearings, etc. So, I'm hoping that was really all done. I'm finding out how important the belts are. Future will tell, I guess.
    Results so far...very satisfied.

    Thanks, Jay

Jay- You might want to take a look at that technical bulletin posted in this thread and make sure yours was checked. It concerns possible interference issues between the fan and shroud. As luck would have it, yours was the last car that may have been affected.

Thanks for the information, Jay, and congratulations on the car. Are the books still with the car? Can you check the warranty card and tell me the engine number? Also, can you check the data plate on the driver's side door jamb and tell me the date of production? I assume it's 9/04, but I hate to assume. :)

Jay, I hope you enjoyed your drive - your car is beautiful.

How were you able to see the engine number? I thought that the engine number on a 550/575M wasn't visible unless the engine was out of the car. Can you tell me how to find it?

Terry, I have shoved my nose as deep as I can into the engine bays of more 575Ms than I can remember, and I've looked at the owners manual for nearly every Ferrari made for the last 30 years and the illustration they give for finding the engine number has been worthless (to me) on every single occasion.

Any chance you have any real life pictures that would show the engine number location on a 575M?

Carbon- I do not even have my car right now. Still in the shop. Will try and take one for you when I get it back with new dash and yellow tachometer.

Here are the updated parts catalog pages on the fuel supply system. The originals, including those in Ricambi's online catalog, are missing parts.
