Carbon: Here are some photos that may help you to find the engine number of 575's Jay Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jay, that's awesome, thank you! I need to go find a 575M! Where were you standing when you took those pictures? The front of the car? The passenger's side?
Carbon Stand on the front passenger side and look right over the edge of the air cleaner box. And when you look down through there it helps to have a flashlight to light up the edges of the numbers so you can read them. Jay
Carbon- I went and checked on the progress for mine yesterday and the number was easily readable. Will get it for you when it comes back. Taz Terry Phillips
2004, 575M, 8010 miles, silver w/ blk interior (i am sure I am using the wrong color names) Assembly # 52075 Serial # 134796 Engine # 79334 build date 10/03 Derek
Derek- Many thanks and that sounds like a very nice car. Please post some photos. Here is the latest version of the VIN/Assembly # document and the upgrades document. Yours has the later exhaust with straight center pipes replacing the center mufflers/resonators. Be careful if you ever replace your rear mufflers because most aftermarket 550/575M rear mufflers were designed for use with the center mufflers. Without them, you can end up with a very loud exhaust. Not a bad thing, just something to watch. For an example, listen to this exhaust, which was originally on my 575M. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIdLWQ4uVjw Taz Terry Phillips Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow...!!! A serial number, engine number, assembly number AND a date of production! Today is my lucky day! Derek, did you buy this car when it was for sale at Lake Forest back in '05...? Congratulations on a beautiful car - and thank you very much for the information!
Derek: See, I told you Taz would be happy to get your info. Thanks for sending it. You could post the pics you have on the new owners site. Jay
See again, Derek. Carbon is very happy getting the numbers. Now you know why I told you to list them!!! He may be able to give you info about your car that you do not know... like he did for me. Jay
Unfortunately, in this case, I don't know anything about his car beyond it being for sale at Lake Forest in 2005. But nonetheless, I'm appreciative of the information - and now I've just added one more bit of history in my database!
I have already posted these one another thread. I bought it this week from Straight Line Automotive. Interesting what you say about the exhaust system as it has Tubi exhaust and I can hear it coming a block away. Stunning...! Thank you for the pictures and the info, you have a beautiful car. If you can "only" hear your car from a block away, then I'm inclined to think you might be hard of hearing. With a Tubi, idle at 1,600 RPM reverbs with such base that you think your chest is hollow. Get it moving at low RPM (1,600-2K) and the whole neighborhood is in for a treat! It's like an orchestra of growling metallic panthers. Maybe it's just me, but it's one of the most amazing sounds in the world.
Thanks, Paul...! Do you own this car...? It's a UK RHD with a manual, right...? Dark silver with black interior?
Absent an SD2/3 to reset errant ECU codes, here is the procedure for turning off the battery switch and doing it yourself. Remember you will also have to reenter the code in your radio if it is a Becker. Plus set your clock, which takes about 30 seconds. Taz Terry Phillips Image Unavailable, Please Login
Carbon- Got my car back so will get you the rest of the details today. I already posted the Build Sheet. Need to get some photos of the yellow tach, HGTC exhaust, and rear wheel spacers while I am at it. Here are a couple. Taz, I saw the other thread, Yellow Tachometer the Hard Way, and I think it looks awesome. Way to go and congratulations! Any plans for shields and changing the red calipers to yellow? For the thread and the ongoing list - and a huge thanks to Jay for the assist, below is all of the information that I acquired on a 575M F1 that is currently for sale at Symbolic for (I believe) $99K. 2003 575M Maranello F1. Seen at Cars & Coffee, 3 October 2009, at the Irvine Spectrum, Irvine, CA. Argento Nürburgring 101/C with light gray leather, power Daytona seats, black carpets and mats, black steering wheel and upper dash, gray lower dash and center console, black carpeted tunnel, 250 GT shelf, no shields, standard wheels, black calipers, 8,500 miles, $99,000, for sale through Symbolic. VIN stamping on the chassis in the engine bay matches that on the steering column, assembly number 48002, F133 E No. 72333, date of production: November, 2002.
Carbon- Not fond enough of shields to add them and would not have ordered them new. If the car had come with them, fine, but it did not. The red calipers look fine for now, even though yellow was optional for both FHP and HGTC packages and would probably look a bit better. Next adds will likely be a leather rear shelf with red Daytona inserts and red Daytona inserts for the seats. Red looks really good with charcoal leather. Plus a bit of CF trim. Maybe an HGTC Shock ECU, if it will fit, to go with the FHP fitted at the factory. Eventually Novitec NF-2s. Hate to go non-OEM, but it would be impossibly expensive to fit real Enzo wheels to a 575M. I checked, and sets of used ones, understandably, do not show up at all. Plus you would have to adapt the center lock adapters, no easy task, if even possible. Even the little rim cups with Cavallino emblems are $768 each. Ouch. Taz Terry Phillips
