This is not a question about my Ferrari, but would like opinions on Discount Tire stores to go to for tires for my Escalade with 22 inch wheels. Have already picked out the tires just looking for good and proper service.

    Thanks

I'm not even sure if they mount & balance something that large of a radius, might just give them a call or find at custom wheel shop to install them properly. Speaking of Discount Tire, I have to head back there today after the store closest to me did a poor job of balancing my new rims & tires.

I bought all my tires at Discount for the last 10 years. Last time around, I looked online at Tire Rack, and took their price to Discount. Discount said they'd match it, but then they added shipping and tax. The problem was, I didn't have to pay tax if I ordered from Tire Rack. Discount wouldn't budge. It was about a $50 difference. I got the manager involved, had him look up my extensive history with his store, he still wouldn't move.

I bought from Tire Rack, had them shipped to NTB who installed them quickly, professionally, and cheaply. Overall, I saved closer to $70. I'm done with Discount. Have now used Tire Rack/NTB for my Ferrari and my wifes daily driver.

I use Discount Tire for almost everything, even my race tires and wheels. Like Jim with NTB sometimes I buy the tires from elsewhere (tirerack.com or Hooiser) if better deal, but at least have them mount. My largest wheels are 19" and they do a great job not scratching.

when I bought my eagle f1's from discount, they had matched and beat everyone else and only charged half the regular for the insurance certificate, they didn't charge shipping.

On a side note, what are you guy's paying per tire ( Mount + Balance ) assuming they are road force balanced when installed?

I have heard 2nd hand that you many need to drive on the new tires for a few weeks, then have them re-balanced. It's news to me, but I learn something new everyday.

I seem to recall it was about $18 per tire at NTB, with lifetime rotate and balance. Will try to remember to check the actual receipt.

You want to see Todd at Discount on Ohio at 121 -972.377.8242. Yes, this is the same Todd that used to be in Flowermound and in Dallas. I follow him everywhere originally because of so many recommendations on the PCA board as well as Norwoods. He always changes my tires personally and never lets anyone else at the shop drive the cars. Super nice guy.

Also he will match tire rack, special order or allow you to send tires to him.

I see you are in Frisco as well. I have used Todd Eaddy at Discount for 8 years. He's the GM at the Ohio/121 store now, as luck would have it. I have followed him from Park/Tollway, to FM 407 in Highland Village to Trinity Mills/Tollway...He does all my race stuff. Technicians don't like busting tires, and Todd does all mine himself, has NEVER scratched a wheel or improperly balanced a tire. TODD's number is 972.567.6687, tell him Nathan from Boardwalk sent you, and you likely will be as loyal as I am.

You think so? Well, I posted his CELL number, not the store number....CLEARLY I provided better information :)

Obviously didn't see ur post...which is quite strange, as I swear it wasn't there when I posted mine....I'm gonna get checked out by my GP

My experience was Porsche related, I used to send my clients to him when I was at BW Porsche/Audi...

    I think it's clear....go see Todd

Getting old sucks doesn't it? First it's the eyesight then it's the memory. Let me know if you need a good GP. I have one of those in my entourage too. :)

I want to thank everyone who responded about the tire situation. I will need to get new tires for the 360 soon so I will contact Todd to see what we can work out.
