As some of you know, I'm looking for a 348 right now, and I've come across a nice example of a '95 Spider. Anyway, the other day after test driving the car, I was in the little sales cubicle waiting for the salesman to come back with some numbers so we could talk turkey. The 348 was parked right outside and I found myself just kind of gazing at it. Eventually, a little girl, maybe 10 or so years old, walked around the building. When she saw the 348, her eyes became saucer huge, and I could just barely see her say, with my limited lip reading skills, "A FERRARI"! She stood there for a long time, studying every angle of the car, obviously in awe of what was parked before her. She clearly wasn't offended by the side strakes, the wedge like shape, etc. She saw the beauty in it. I was so relieved to see someone who is so young and can appreciate an exotic. When I was that age in the late 80's/early 90's, we all had Testarossas, 348s, Countaches, you name it on our binders and folders at school. Now, it looks like you only see tricked out civics. My how times change...I know, I'm sounding old.

You should have ran out real quick and asked her if she would like to sit in it. It would have made her day.

Almost did! The salesman had the keys, though, and it took him a while to get the numbers. She was gone when he got back :-(

Wow, does this happen in 348s too? If so, screw the PPI, I'm just gonna get the thing and drive it 'til it blows up. :)

What a lovely story. Would have been nice if the girl had been able to sit in it - maybe next time. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

My 348 puts smile on my face every time I look at it and an idiotic grin every time I drive it :)

Just had it last week. I came past the movie-rent-place to return a movie. When I came ou again a boy of age 16 had paked his bike next to the car. The fella was waiting for me witha ready-phone in his hand. "Can I please take some pictures of it?" I do like the attention the car gets, but when a kid appreciates it it just sounds more 'real' or 'pure' (sorry, don't know the correct word here). So the little man starts to walk around the car with his camera-phone, taking pictures while shouting words like "amazing!" and "dream car". It feels terrific to make a kids day like this. When I opended the engine-trunk for him he had no teeth left in his mouth..but his camera was still active.

A friend of mine, his dad wors in our town, where he is working at some sort of activity center for kids. Probably kids who's parents are out working or don't have the time for them, etc.. I was on my friends birthday this week and got to talking with his dad. We talked a lot and in the end I gave him my number. He will try to ring me once a week or so to come by together with the 348 for the kids. Also to help out here and there a bit. But I'm really looking forward to this. The car is meant for such things I'm sure.. :)

Admitted, a well chested blonde would have been equally 'real' and 'pure' :D :D

I believe the word(s) you are looking for are "genuine" or "authentic", and I agree with you on that.
