Regarding sabotage: Remember how Stepney was caught redhanded trying to put washing powder into the Ferrari tank of the cars being prepped for Monaco? THAT is sabotage.

Industrial espionage is a criminal act. Pretty much in every society that values copyright and intellectual property.

Charges were filed in Italy and Britain but in the light of the draconian FIA punishment dropped again.

About the canoe: Maybe, but I really don't get what the fuss is over the Renault team order: Yes, it is against ethics and moral, but so is any team order. The fact that it virtually guaranteed Alonso the victory is very clever in my book.

 

The 'white powder' incident was an allegation that didn't get to court so we'll never know the truth. And why would Ferrari not pursue a good case against Stepney for sabotage because of the fine the FIA imposed on McLaren - two entirely different cases.

There are no patents, or intellectual property rights in F1 and you yourself believe it is perfectly acceptable for anything on an F1 car to be copied by rival teams.

 

Nelson Piquet jnr is a cheat. Whether it was his idea or not, and I believe it was, he cheated. Because Flav and Symonds knew about the plan before-hand they are also implicated, but they didn't drive a car into a wall. I agree with the punishments that Flav and Symands received, but as far as I'm concerned Piquet should be in jail.
If I told my wife I was going to deliberately crash my car so we claim on the insurance I would be a criminal. If I had managed to get away with it, but then a year later told the insurance company what happened I think the police would be persuing me harder than they would my wife.

You're not really getting the point. Alonso didn't question it, that's fine. He's obviously not a retard, but that still doesn't mean he knew exactly what the plan was. Could he have suspected something was up, of course. Unless you know for a fact that he protested so hard that they had to let Alonso in on the strategy then you're harping on what YOU think is true. Still only your opinion. It's not like Piquet spinning off was such an usual occurrence.

No kidding. Some people seem to think Alonso is satan and he should be banned because he simply must have known being that he's satan whether they told him or not...

 

....And their convoluted logic makes them declare that the sins of the man "who must have known" (they say) are much worse than those of the little **** who admittedly (under immunity of course) cheated, ran his car into a wall, and then told about it.
