Some suggestions that Manor might hire Piquet next season. If true it says something about the extent of that team's ambition.

Booth said: "I've not spoken to him at the moment, but he's a smashing little driver. I've no personal problems with him, but it is unclear what his current position is with regards sponsorship."

If Jr. ends up anywhere in F1 I'll be surprised.
Having said that I wouldn't put it past Max to guarantee him a seat on one of the expansion teams who owe him a favor in exchange for Flav's head.

Please tell me that's a joke!

Ditto. This is the point in the game where large amounts of money begin changing hands, resulting in contracts getting signed. I look at it this way--IF Junior gets a ride next year, it won't be on merit.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. You can retire to the beach now.
Tell me Grosjean didn't duplicate Jr.'s accident in practice.

To be honest, up until F1 he looked REALLY good. If you've seen him in GP2 he was great. He was on par with hambone...

True. Before F1 he was used to driving for teams owned by his Dad so he would have been pretty cosetted. Still a quick driver though. In F1 he obviously didn't thrive under Flav's unique brand of driver management and then he made that stupid, cowardly, and dangerous decision. His being a stupid coward does not make him a slow driver, however his reputation surely makes him a sponsorless one!

IMO, NP Jr. should be baned from F1 or any other FIA series for life. A driver is ultimately responsibile for his own actions, it takes a serious lack of personal intergrity and self-respect to crash the car and even less than that to turn on his own team in the end.

C'mon if I brought enough money to a poor team I'd get a drive:)

Well sure, especially if that team were also pretty much vaporware at this point ;)

Well, that'd be an interesting development.

Certainly, I don't think Piquet Jr. would find a drive at one of the more established teams, but I did wonder whether one of the new little teams would bring him on board simply to have a driver who's been in F1 before.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I was actually referring to the word 'smashing'. But like any sport, the developmental racing series are loaded to the rafters with good talent that don't pan out at the top level. And even though more light has been shed on the situation at Renault, I still believe that Junior lacks the mental toughness to cut it in F1. Prior to that, he enjoyed the supporting embrace of his dad. But with that comfort level stripped away, he didn't fare quite as well. This happens all the time.

More like the amount of sponsorship money the Brat can bring with him. I don't think he brings much chance of racing success, only a bad attitude and bad history. But if he can bring sponorship money, that will mean a lot to a young team. The question is, who would want to sponsor the Brat?

With enough money all things are possible.

Don't tell anyone but Ferrari is behind the Swiss Arab group buying BMW's F1 team.
Kimi and I will be co-driving.
