Show and tell time kids. Lookie what Ernie just brought home. Nana nana naaaaaana Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ozzy did an AWSOME job on my system. He made a couple of special request mods for me. Let me tell you that this thing is L I G H T!!! I stepped on the scale holding the just the muffler, put the muffler down, then weighed myself again, and subtracted the numbers. My custom Gothspeed muffler weighs in at just 21/lbs!!! Oz also made me custom high flow, slip fit, cats. The Gothspeed exhaust system is b!tchen! Here is a top view of the complete system. I slipped the cats into the muffler and then weighed the entire system. Are you ready for this, muffler and cats combined, weighed in at barely 28.5/lbs!!! That is super light! Each cat weight about 3.75/lbs. I can hardly wait until I have this thing bolted up. But first I have to get my car dyno'd with the stock setup in place for a baseline. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It starts, that's not the problem. The problem is figuring out what keeps causing my c.e.l. Oh that is pissing me off. I have changed out the spark plugs, the coolant temp sensors, and the O2 sensors, and the same code keeps popping up (1212). I'm gonna swap the injectors from side to side to see if the problem jumps. I have a feeling my #4 injector has had it????
if the #4 is out a smog machine will show it as a miss and at which cylinder too. Then if the miss is in #4 you have to make the diagnosis of it being spark or fuel. RC engineering in torrance was the best injector refurb and cleaner guy in all the magazines. They got injectors to buy too. http://www.rceng.com/
Oz, you truly are "The Man". As always, your quality and workmanship is impeccable. Anything more said would just be an understatement. Ernie is a very fortunate individual.
Yeah. I'm gonna have to pull them and take them down there for testing, cleaning, and tuning. That is unless they have some injectors that have a better spray pattern, and aren't too expensive. But first I'm gonna swap the plug wires from side to side, just to rule those out.
That looks fantastic!! Oz is the man! I can wait to see before and after results on the dyno Ernie. Also hope you get that bad boy sorted soon! The CEL keeps coming up? Does the car have a miss does it?? Why change the leads over and check the injectors if there isnt a miss? That will just be a waste of time IMO.
Very nice, has anyone got a video clip of this system in action on the 355? The quality looks good. Are they the same company that tune motorcycles http://www.gothspeed.com/main.htm ? They do good work by the looks of it. Or are they a new company? Any videos of what it sounds like guys?
The system was designed and fabricated by our resident Dark Lord - Gothspeed. He has previously fabricated everything from key blanks, F355 Challenge-type rear grill, F355 modified air boxes, F355 resonator block-off plates, to....(you get the idea). You can rest-assured that anything he makes will be of the highest quality and be completely functional.
Looks great! (don't forget to swap MAF side to side for the 1212 test, plus check your FPRs as a leak from an FPR through the vacuum system can cause little hiccups at idle)
Regarding the cel problem, mine turned out out to be a bad wire at the crank sensor. I went through the same problem solving steps you are. Hope it helps. Richard at Competizione finally diagnosed the cel problem for me. I did have a misfire from time to time. Good luck. The exhaust looks really nice. Can't wait to hear it.
Son of a two ball BEETOOOOOOCH!!!! If it isn't one stupid thing with this car it's another!!!! I really don't know why I don't just send it to the crusher!!! Okay so I'm driving the car on the freeway, down shift into 3rd and step on the loud peddle. Go to shift it into 4th and it WILL NOT go in. Push on the clutch and the peddle is HARD! AAAAH!!!!!!! I have no clutch! So I match the revs and shift it into 5th. Get off the freeway and I'm thinking that the throw out bearing has had it. Limp it home matching revs so I can change gears. Pull it in the garage and immediately got check the bottom of the clutch housing for break fluid...........nothing. ????? Look in the trunk and the fluid is below the line for the clutch. Oh isn't that just b!tchen, the clutch sucked up air. Spend about 15 minutes bleeding the clutch, with no air bubbles coming out mind you, and still the clutch is hard as before. I really hope it's just air in the system, and not a master cylinder problem, or worse the fingers on the pressure plate?!?!?! Man this PISSES me off!!! Here I have Ozzy's fantastic work ready to rock-n-roll, and not only do I have a misfire problem but NOW the car wants to throw this crap at me. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I was getting so excited. I really wanted to have this thing on the dyno so that I could put my new setup on.
