I would but I am going out of town .....
Why don't we do the trial run for the Mohegan event on Saturday, Lane? The bridge is being worked on all weekend on southbound I-95, so we'd have to find another route coming back, like the swing bridge.
You mean FOXWOOD I'm sure There are specific plans to do it 1 week prior to the event with ALL the route leaders...but, If you'd like a precursor...love to get your impression.
I would be game for something tomorrow if anyone is doing anything. Tomorrow looks to be really nice.
Really need some help with the Route Leaders. We need 10 to 15 cars that know the route and can be strategically placed in the chain. I presently have 3. There are some specific details you need to be aware of along with first hand knowledge of the circuit. the plan is to get these people together on the 11th, and/or 17th to go over final preps and learn the route. Might be better if break this down a little more. Who has some time this morning or tommorrow morning with the DD?
FYI...The request for Group Leaders is not limited to the gatherers. Anyone with qualifying car (exotic or supercar) is welcome to become a part of this event.
Lane, I PMed Manolis and chatted with my wife about it. Seems our "lowly" M3 ;-) can be a camera car and partake in the cruise in that capacity. Since we'd be part of the event in that manner, we'd also be able to do the lunch portion. Correct me if I'm wrong on any of that. Tina, being an amature photographer and always up for a nice drive in the 'vert, has given the "OK" for the event. So... that said, I guess you can count us in as a camera car. Manolis said he'd be providing a camera and mount, plus my wife's camera and we should be getting some good shots. I'd offer to be a route leader too, but Indigo (yes, I named our car) doesn't qualify, plus it probably wouldn't do to double up on the job descriptions.
Deutsch Marques, Eric - glad to have the help. I'll be in touch as I learn more details regarding those tasks. Dino74, Mike - I've identified a task that needs doing. Would you be interested in "sweeper"? Last car of the event making sure everyone finds there way back. Need to familiarize yourself with the route just like a route leader (see below). When are you available? AVFPolo, Ed - I've penciled you in as Route Leader meaning you would need to be familiar with the route and guide a group of 10 cars. Means you will need to cover the route in advance of the event and be briefed on road hazzards and format. When are you available? Joe M - Same as Ed. When are you available? Everyone...PLEASE do not take offense to the classification element of the of the cars. It is beyond my control and you all know I don't discriminate. I happen to be a huge fan of the M3's, S4's, Alfa's, Fiat's and anything else you can't normally find at any soccer field. While not "supercars" they certainly are cars that are super. Lane
I'd be happy to help... sounds like a fun job. I traded emails with Manolis yesterday telling him I didn't want to get in the way if it was a "supercar only" event. He indicated that I might enjoy a "crew" position with my '74 Alfa, and I completely understand. It's my son's b-day so I'm booked the rest of today, and I'm out of town most of tomorrow. Other than that, let me know when it's convenient for you and I'll make myself available. Thanks, Michael.
Lane, I am available next weekend or the 17th. I will be stuck at a wedding the weekend of the 10th & 11th. Joe
Got some time tomorrow to cruise the route with the Audi. Any route leaders want to come along? I have to be home by 2:00 (Hockey in New Hampshire at 4:40)
Hi Lane, AVFPolo is available. Let me know where and when to meet. I'll be taking daily driver if the weatherman is correct. Or if he's wrong I'll bring the Fcar for top up motoring. - Ed -
I'm available, Lane. Let me know when and where to meet. Maybe I'll mount a camera or two inside the Lightning. I'll bring a walkie talkie (I only have one that still works). If you bring your two, you can stay in touch with the trail car and me.
A few of us are meeting at the great Cedars Garage at 9:30 this morning to go over the preparations and cruise the circuit in our DD's. Anyone wishing to be a route leader needs to have first hand knowledge of the route. This is one of only a few opportunities to gain that experience. Please join us if you can. See the attached map for Great Cedars Garage location on the foxwoods property Lane Image Unavailable, Please Login
Whelp...The weather sucked...we all know that, but I still had a blast playing in the mud with the DD. Ed, David, Craig and Myself took in a nice ride through the Southeastern playground. Their comments will be put to good use in sharpening the Foxwoods cruise route. Nice to have some fresh eyes finding the pitfalls. Thanks Guys
Lane I saw a little while ago you had reply 666 on this thread. Kind of scary. I sent you the email for the cruise route photo and caution areas. Guys make sure you register for the Oct. 18th rally it is going to be a great day. If I may suggest you and your spouses might want to take off the 19th to sleep late. Lots of fun things planned......
Sorry to change the subject. Thanx Joe. Now that I am back to work weekdays are out. Did my second attempt at a pm make it to U?
I didn't know we had to register. You may want to PM everyone at once. I would hate to miss out because I did not know this had to be done. Lane, how should this be handled? or are we automatically in by posting on the event thread? --Mike
I'm not totally clear on this point yet. I know the event is by invitation only. You will need to complete an RSVP form at the supercar road trip website to request an invitation. That RSVP form is in the developement process now and should be posted soon. I'll be sure to inform you when it happens. I'm not yet sure on how non qualifying cars or freinds of the program are to be handled. I hope it becomes clear when the RSVP form is published. Please note that Jess, Eric, and Mike Donnelly have already volunteered and are therefore going to be invited. Not yet sure if they need tio RSVP. Other folks with unqualified cars (dont take it personally) that wish to be a part of the festivities will need to volunteer to participate. I have quite a few tasks that need to be accomplished. Also note that the event is open to the public for witnessing the spectacle but will not be included in activities such as the cruise, lunch, and many of the other things being planned.
Saint Bastage is exact. I will post the RSVP form shortly. You will all be notified by Lane when the RSVP form is posted. thanks guys! --Manolis www. SaintBastage. com
