On September 15, 2009 this earth lost an incredible man Ellery Koch from Calgary, Alberta, a husband, father, and an amazing journeyman technician.
I am writing on this forum to reach those people that knew my husband Ellery, I am saddened by the lack of respect that friends of Ellery ( or as the called themselves) showed my husband when he passed away. There were no phone calls of condolences, no cards sent and did not see anyone at the funeral. Shame on all of you. Some of you may not have known that he passed away but for those that we contacted especially people that he knew through ZR Exotic Auto Sales, you see he was the technician who worked on many of your Ferraris and Lamborghinis for 4 years, I am so disappointed.
For those who were clients or car people on the tours, Ellery always went above and beyond to make sure your cars ran, were there on time and always present on the tours, to fix any breakdowns, carry your luggage or do what was asked of him. Many of you sang his praises for he was an amazing mechanic (contrary to popular belief by some.) His ability to diagnois and rectify problems was truly a wonder. I know I worked there as well. I know what he did and what respect he showed each client. He is truly missed.

Sorry to hear about your loss as well.

You might want to post a little note in the "Canada" section (below) as it might reach more of those who knew your husband.

I am so sorry for your loss of a loved one.
I live in Virignia, USA, so I did not have the pleasure of knowing your husband personally.

I found an online obituary entry for Ellery so that others on here can remember him.

We car owners really do appreciate everything that our mechanic friends do for us over the years.

    R.I.P.

Here is a picture I found of Ellery Koch online.
I hope you don't mind me posting it, it might help others remember meeting him in the past.

    Sorry for your loss.

Did not know him but if I had I'm sure I'd have liked him.

As Uro said you should post this in the Canadian Section.

Of course, I didn't know your husband, but do know from experience know that the guys who really make things work...in any business or profession...are often overshadowed by the frontmen.

I make it a personal point to develop a friendly relationship with anyone who works on my prized cars. Unfortunately, that's a lot harder to do at a dealership than at an independent shop.

Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss.

I am sorry for your loss.

I live in Calgary, and although I do not own a Ferrari or Lamborghini, and I did not know Mr. Koch personally, I remember seeing him at some of the local events, Always with a smile on his face.

I never met Ellery personally but I have seen him in the shop when he was at ZR Auto. I've heard of his dedication, passion, and knowledge though, and he will most certainly be missed. My condolences to the family.

We remember Ellery with only the best memories, he helped us with our car so much and also help break the ice at our first event with ZR, that is what I will remember most about him, he was a great person to talk to

He will be sadly missed by us.

    RIP.

I didn't know Ellery that well. At the 3 or 4 ZR events that I was invited to years ago, I remember him as very personable and he always took the time to talk to you. I'm sorry for your loss. He was a great guy and will be missed.
