He was supposed to relinquish that duty under the guise of him being a new team principle for the entire season. I know that he was performing that duty for the past few races, but I suspect it was as a stand-in for the other chap (perhaps because he was sick. His voice sounded a bit rough after Suzuka.) I don't know that for a fact....just my speculation.

    Guys, USF1 is REAL.

I was in Charlotte last week and I saw Peter Windsor holding an F1 scale model out of the car window at 60 MPH, so I can verify that their wind tunnel testing is underway.

Did you hear the type of noise we might expect from the Cossie motor? Or were his lips just flapping....

Oh what a bunch of idiots. They didn't read the rules for next year! The rear wing is to big...the front wing needs to be larger, not to mention they use grooved tires!

and I thought that their car was to be best because all the carbon fibre in the world comes from tennesee or whatever.

    Team Fail FTW:D

many question come to mind as do many adjectives - pipe dream, delusional, far fetched, fluff, oblivious to the real world, best laugh was "fan friendly" haha, inflated ego, and so on and so forth

Brian, did you ever find out more about/from the carbon fiber people near you?

    Carol

btw Knorr - nice job, did you do that yourself?

    I like this....

"The logistics, of course, were another matter. We would have to pay for all the travel to and from Europe, but, even so, the figures made sense. We could have our cars and team personnel back in Charlotte after a race like the Spanish Grand Prix faster than the average British-based team would have its trucks back in England, and for virtually no increase in cost. We would join the other Formula One teams for the “flyaway” race logistics — and we would treat the European double-headers just like any other team: We would simply truck our cars to the next race."

How on earth can you really suggest that you can pack up your gear at the track, get it to a plane, fly it into the US, unload, truck it to your shop as fast as a truck across Europe! Let alone for the same cost! Let alone any jet lag problems. besides, I thought there was a European base planned?

I thought so too - in conjunction with Epsilon Euskadi in Spain or Paul Ricard (nothing like being a brown-nose to Bernie if that was it). Sounds like they best be in the market for a used 747 for their grandious/cheaper plan than trucking in the EU. Certainly doesn't give the appearance of sound financial planning to me!!

I think DHL flies the teams freebie (for them, big ataboy to Bernie/Max here) if they score even one measly little point the previous season. Perhaps they cut a deal with the new teams when the chips were down.
Fueling, Buying, fueling, maintaining, and refueling a 747 is not the econo way. Not to mention the fueling.

Manor. I'm sure that Nick Wirth has already done a lot CFD testing on their new car. The work is centered in the middle of many British shops and suppliers most of whom have worked with Manor and Nick before. Add in the Virgin money, they'll be there......

oh, don't forget a certain Rubens Barrichello has connections there......

Regarding Manor and Campos: One is already rumored to be the Virgin F1 team (by Sir Richard Branson) and the other has already started to pick drivers.

Why we are so critical about USF1? I give you 10 good reasons:

    1) Because Windsor has put together a F1 team before just to fall short of actually racing with it.
    2) Windsor is an idiot.
    3) Seeing is believing. If you are working for a US TV station doing F1, wouldn't it be the most natural thing to report occasionally about your US F1 team you're building?
    4) Swiss Blick's Benoit has his own doubts about the whole thing being a charade.
    5) The master of F1 has his own doubts about the whole thing being a charade.
    6) Every time we raise ??? some unknown FChat rookie shows up and swears on the Bible that it all is true and we know nothing. Then disappears without further details.
    7) Windsor is an idiot.
    8) Windsor is an idiot.
    9) Windsor is an idiot.
    10) Windsor is an idiot.

When Peter was asked about how his team was doing he responded "you mean Anderson's team" then dodged the question. I hope they do it. Just am not counting on it.

    I noticed that too.

And therein lies a tiny bit of hope: As soon as they get Windsor out of the picture, it might actually gain some credibility.

Come to think of it: *IF* they are successful, then Windsor has to run the team and won't have time anymore to work for Speed TV so we won't have to endure his incredibly stupid "interviews" on pitlane. That by itself would greatly improve the viewing quality of Speed's F1 broadcasts.
