Jensen is defending a lead in the Championship and needs to consistently score safely in the points rather than go barnstorming for every position, while Rubens is chasing the title and has much less to lose. If Jensen wrecks, he could lose the title and he's an idiot for not showing the cool restraint of a Champion... if Rubens wrecks, it's because he had to drive flat-out all the time to have any hope of catching up and people have sympathy because it just shows how hard he was pushing.

In my view, the conditions in which they're driving are completely different.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Well as for those who claimed he is another MS that just silly.

Rubens is doing well, he would deserve the title and I also think JB would if he wins it, just he maybe playing it safe and it does not look good. I think now it just boils down to who you prefer to win, myself I like both drivers Rubens is out to show he can be champ after years suffering a forced supporting role for MS, JB is out to show he can be a champ after years of suffering in a under par car. I don't want either to lose out, but there can only be one winner.;)

Andy Neurobeaker makes a valid point also.

But of the most unworthy WDC's; JB's the best.

It just seems like JB is not trying to win anymore, he is trying not to lose. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't.

I hope RB wins it, but I think JB will prevail. And good for him.

+1. I also think that if you take away "team orders" from earlier this year, the standings may be different right now. At the very least, the points gap would be significantly less.

FTR, the complaint is more about Brawn than Jensen.

Here is a scenario for the end of the movie, Barrichello is leading with two laps to go, Button is in fourth.. Inexplicably Barrichello crashes heavily,
Button finishes third and wins the championship.
What would the news of the world make of that?????

I see it as a natural progression.

    Like an opera unfolding,

    or a ballet,

or a Gimp with a hacksaw playing hockey in a Canoe.

    As "355" posted elsewhere;

"Dont worry. Button has this all wrapped up. Vettel could have 30 engines left. Its not in the cards for him to win it. Button had this season all wrapped up months ago but then they put the brakes on him just as I predicted. They cant afford to piss off Button now or he might pull a Piquet."

    +3 (or +4? +5?)

Aside from fewer wins and points, Vettel has 4 DNF's. Points are points. Button has had to deal with the most pressure all year. He deserves it because he will outscore every other competitor. He may have had a dominant car, but so did RB. And as I already pointed out, with exceptions, so did every other WDC. Getting into that seat is part of the contest.

2003 and 2006 absolutely prove my point. There can't be much argument when the WDC and WCC go to the same team and the lead driver did it all himself, right? The WDC was in the best car. The anomaly is 2007 and 1999 as I mentioned, where in 2007, the Ferrari wasn't the best car. Lewis was on a mission to give away the championship. We all understand he cracked under the pressure. In 1999, Eddie Irvine made it close, but we would all agree it wouldn't have been that close if MS didn't miss half the season. You can look back over the years, the WDC drives the fastest car. Doesn't make Button undeserving.

I have my own little, perhaps paranoid, personal theory on how Lewis lost that title. And the pressure was not on Lewis.
