    Hi,

In solving the suspension issue on our 456, we have discovered that the small gear on top of the shocker is broken. It is not available from Ferrari (apparently) but Ricambi sell a part, but list it as for the 355. Will it fit the 456?

    Thanks

    Mr M,

Try this URL. It goes to the part #SAG355
    http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?cPath=457_99998&products_id=261324

I know I have a fault, because the car is riding harder than a Billy cart in the rear. So much so that you hear rattles and noises everywhere. My 365 Boxer feels like a limo by comparison, really.

It is at the moment a most uncomfortable car, not the true GT we should expect.

We will probably re build the rear shocks and also check that the pressure accumulators are fully gassed as well. These two issues seem to be the most likely contributors to a very harsh ride.

A missing actuator will probably render the adjustable settings inoperative as well.

    Cheers
    Scott

Taz, for less than $300 you can get a new Corvette actuator and with a half hours work have a new one. All you need is a fine tooth hack saw, some Devcon Plastic Weld, and a soldering gun.

I use a Dremel cut off saw and a lathe to get a fine perfect cut, but it can be done with a hack saw if you're careful.

Dave- I believe you and that is probably the best option. Not all of us are as good with a hack saw as you are, however. My efforts along those lines usually look like something a rat chewed.

I have now ordered an actuator from Dave, a retaining clip (PN142079) from Ricambi and an actuator gear (SAG355) from Ricambi.

We will fit these, hopefully reinstating the adjustability. If required we will then service the shocks and perhaps the pressure accumulators.

I will keep you all informed.
