    Saw this at Serrano on Sunday and was blown away. What an amazing design for the 50's. So many edges and curves, a two owner car and at one time a daily driver. Great restoration so many small details.

    There are some better shots of the car earlier this year at Pebble on the web.

    It's hard to describe all the angles, trim, brightwork on this car. Normally all of these little details would make a car look strange, but it works. the rear trunk is double bubble, the top of the doors have a heavey compound bend in them the interior is F barchetta-ish.
    The front looks dual Ghia like to me.

    Facel Vega comes almost to mind.

    Didn't they also do a special for Chrysler a few years later which was lost aboard the Andrea Doria while it was being shipped back?

    Without looking it up, I think that the show car that was lost with the Andrea Doria was the Ghia Norseman. There were also several Lancia Aurelia Spiders in the hold if the legend is true.

    The "jet fighter" air intake was the design theme on a series of six or seven Lancia Aurelia Pf200 specials, both as coupes and convertibles.

    I think you are right. Hate to say it, but this is far prettier than many of the strange Ferrari specials of the day by several of the famous coach-works.

    Yes, Norseman: This Chrysler club link claims it was the wooden body proof, not an operable car. Interesting also, they say that Ghia only executed the design - it was put down by Virgil Exner.

    Unfortunately it would still drive like a Rambler.
    Cool looking car though.

    Traces of Dual Ghia from the nose and Stude Hawk from the rear, imo. Understated for the time, I like it better than most of the 50's sleds. Just rec'd this month's C/D and it has a nice little article on the AMC owners convention.
