    Scott and all- There was an announcement in the local media about a week ago that the Quail Lodge is CLOSING its hotel operations in the immediate future, though it will remain as a golf facility in some form. Who knows what this means for the future of "The Quail" event as we know it, but it bodes ill.....

    I received an email notifying me of the date and reassuring me that the closure of the hotel would not adversely impact the event. However, it said nothing about ticket prices or how they can be purchased. Last year's "first come, first served" approach was a joke. I managed to get through about four minutes after the scheduled 8:30 a.m. start, but a friend who got through at 8:43 was told that the tickets had sold out already.

    The Quail and all other events will be the same, if not better- the Motorcycle Concourse will be amazing. Fear not- Time will improve situations. The closing of the hotel is unfortunate. It is a publicly held company that must answer to shareholders.

    IMO it won't be the same. It must be for sale and of course there could be BK down the road if no sale is made. The golf course will remain or at least the grass.

    not too far from the truth, next year there will be 3 Concours d'LeMons shows around the country. :D

    Folks, it's still on and will be a strong event as I live down hear and know the folks working the event..... it still will be a great event, more details will come out later

    The HK based company that owns the hotel is embroiled in a bitter union dispute. The likelihood is they will close the hotel property, cease operating as a businesss, then reorganize and open under another corporate name. That said, if the potential nationwide collapse of the commercial real estate market doesn't in fact take place, the Quail will most likely continue. If the commercial market tanks, as some are forecasting, all bets are off.
