While installing the exhaust bypass valve delete spacer in my '95 355 last night I noticed that the plastic intake ducts that feed into the airboxes have a Y-configuration. One side of the Y is obviously the air intake but the other side is completely blocked off on the end. Is this a sort of sound resonator or maybe a part that's common with another model? It appears to have no function whatsoever.

BTW the valve delete sounds great as many of you have mentioned!

Thanks, that makes sense. Wonder what objectionable sound they were trying to neutralize? BTW, what does 'ROW' refer to? Mine's a Sept. '94 build.....thx!

And they can be replaced by straight pipe just like the Challenge cars for better air flow and probably a couple of horses.

Better yet...use an O-ringed, block-off plug fabricated in the dark, dank Gothspeed underground laboratory.

Great, more nuggets of institutional forum knowledge! How/where does one get his hands on Challenge straight pipes (Ricambi?) or Gothspeed block-off plugs (PM to follow)?

BTW, is there a comprehensive list of all mods on the Challenge cars that could be adapted for street apps? I keep learning about Challenge parts (adjustable sway bar links most recently) that can be substituted. TIA
