Hi All and apolgies if this has already been dealt with but I've not managed to find a solution.

My fobs all work fine, the immobiliser works fine but the alarm doesnt arm or ever sound.

Is it possible that it's been turned off via software option of some description? Any suggestions as to starting point for problem solving gratefully received.

Are you saying that it won't sound if you set it off? Or are you saying it doesn't chirp when you arm the system?

It doesn’t seem to arm at all. If I set it with windows slightly ajar and reach inside (after its 30 second count down) and open the door, nothing. If I fake the engine cover closed and set the alarm and then “open” the cover, nothing! If I open the door with the key, having set the alarm using the fob, nothing. Seems to be totally disabled.

As it happens, it doesn't chirp when it's set or un-set but that may be because it was originally a UK model where I suspect the chirp isn't allowed (according to the owners manual).

Can you please advise where these componets are located? Electronic board looks like maybe it's in the compartment behind the left hand seat. I haven't a clue where the siren is located.

Hi Taz, thanks for the lead - I've read through a number of links and found some common themes occurring with other people - particularly the fact that my LED stays solidly lit when I'm driving the car - this seems to be linked to a dead backup battery in the siren module which I now understand is located in the front bulkhead accessed from the rear of the front hood. Why a dead backup battery would disable the entire system escapes me but from reading the posts of others it seems that it does!

So, my next job is to access the siren module and in all probability change the battery and hopefully all will be well.

Thanks to all who contributed on this.

The alarm siren is on the drivers side below the master cylinder. Take out the back panel in the trunk and you will find it.

UK cars do not chirp when they arm or disarm but the lights flash.

The dash LED on my 360 is still lit after starting the car. I have replaced the alarm module and opened the new one up and verified that the internal battery is still good. All alarm functions are perfect except that the LED still comes on a few seconds after car is started.

While looking around under RHS of dash, I noticed a rather large green "box", probably normally covered by a thin sheet of black plastic sheeting but this plastic had been pulled back exposing this green box. Adjacent to the green box is a miniature toggle switch in the up position. This all looks original but I cannot find any reference to it in the workshop manual.

Any ideas on what this toggle switch is used for? Also any other ideas on why the LED remains on?

PS... I have asked for help on a number of occasions now but still haven't solved the mystery.

    Thanks...

I've seen them where the battery splits open and the contents spills over the board, rotting the tracks and rendering it useless. Open it up and see!!
