PLEASE be courteous enough to RSVP IN ADVANCE so proper accommodations can be made for everyone!! I need to have the last names of anyone planning on attending. If you do not see your name on the list please let me know if you plan on attending, and include your last name so I can give it to the guardhouse. Everyone on the list in post #25, I have your last names already. Thanks!! Easy directions to the house at 5028 Misty Morn Road Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418 From the Turnpike: Exit #107 and take a left onto the Beeline Hwy (SR 710) - You must have a Sunpass for this exit. Go 1.1 miles to light at Steeplechase Drive / Haverhill Rd. Take a left onto Steeplechase Drive. Have your picture ID ready for the guard. After passing guardhouse take your first right onto Misty Morn Road. 5028 is the last house on the right. From Palm Beach International Raceway: Go southeast on the Beeline Hwy (SR 710) 14.2 miles to the light at Steeplechase Drive / Haverhill Rd. (approximately .9 miles past the Turnpike underpass) Take a left onto Steeplechase Drive. Have your picture ID ready for the guard. After passing guardhouse take your first right onto Misty Morn Road. 5028 is the last house on the right. From I-95: Take Exit #76 Blue Heron Blvd. and go west. Blue Heron blvd. terminates / merges onto the Beeline Hwy. (SR 710) approximately 1 mile west of I-95. Merge onto the Beeline hwy. and stay in the right lane. BT, I spoke to Michael Gregg (red Scud) today, he wants to come. At least for one. I would like for him to bring his lovely wife. He is not on FChat so much to see this thread. BTW, you and Lisa always do all the work and suplly all of the food. Except an appetite, what can each of us bring to help (Paypal link does not seem to be working)? Just rembered, Todd may come (05F430), anybody talk to him tell him to RSVP.
paypal link works just fine... Many others have tried it with success... ;-) thanks in advance for your donations...they will go 100% to Lisa to get the groceries. http://www.gofastmotorcars.com
So we have: BT John G. Ron P. John V Bill O. Griff W. Fred B. Oscar M. Guy C. Ric N. Jeronimo G. Stephen B. Lorne S. Colleen G. Richard C. Chris and Heather C. Robert M. Ana Maria Rodney William H. Michael G. Todd A. The link I posted seems to be weird. Just go to http://www.gofastmotorcars.com/Go_Fast_Motorcars/Schedule.html and click on the paypal donation link near the top of the page (the one John set up works). Looking forward to it!!! BT
I will show up, but have to work until 4, so I will be there around 4:30 and then have to go to a neighbors birthday party around 7. Cant bring my car since I still cant drive a stick shift for a few more weeks until the rotator cuff surgery starts healing. Tom
Bill/John, please count me in for 3. If you need any help setting up on Friday, the day before, let me know and I will be there. Thank you. PaulieB (Bianco)
I have a solution. I will trade you my automatic 1996 Olds Ciera wagon, 8 passenger, for your Lotus. So...........whatchu think??
The PayPal link doesn't work for me either. I tried it through FChat and gofastmotorcars website. All I get when I hit the link is "Sorry-your last action could not be completed". The only action I took was to hit the link. Am I doing something wrong? Should I stuff some cash in a shoe box and leave it at Bill and Lisa's front door? Signed, Perplexed
Dear Perplexed, Sorry for any troubles. I just had a look myself again and verified it works. I think Go Fast Motorcars members have ponied up enough money to sponsor this event, however if you still want to bring a dessert or your favorite beverage to share with us all, that would be awesome! See you there. John
Bill, Thats great to hear! We appreciate the help and look forward to meeting you all @ Bills casa. John
I did. See my response. The Paypal link has not worked for a few people. And I would guess those people including me probably have known BT longer than you, so he and Lisa would know we are not trying to take advantage of the situation. Certainly you understand this. Thanks!!
Ron, here is the link, as taken from the website, and the club newsletter, and verified again by me: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=8848656 I am truly sorry if you feel slighted, or that my club somehow feels you have some way tried to "take advantage" of the situation. Your nasty PMs full of insults really do not lend any merit to the circumstances. Neither myself nor anyone in our club was rude to you, Bill or anyone for that matter. Things can be perceived many ways when written. You do not know me sir; had you had the experience of meeting me prior, you may have chosen different words to write to me. Out of respect for Rob Lay and his forum I will keep this out of the public eye, however please note that we have opened this event up to your club with open arms, not expecting a red cent, and have provided plenty of funding so that Lisa and Bill do not have to spend a dime from their pockets, and that we will have enough food for your group, ours and all of our family and friends. We havent asked you for ANYTHING. In fact, I only asked our members to chip in. And they have. Again, I am truly sorry you feel the way you do. I still cannot see ANYWHERE I have been rude, snobbish, or condescending. Go Fast Motorcars is a non profit car club, and I do the best I can organizing these events, with little to no investment from anyone. Because Bill & Lisa wanted to have the next Go Fast Motorcars event at their home, I thought it would be a great idea to invite you since you all had the honor of being there years before for SSF. You sir, with your NASTY emails and pms to me have really made me feel like that was a bad decision. Furthermore, I feel your comments are without merit and are unfounded. Asking me to "avoid you" at Bills house at our club event is absurd! We are all there for fun! Get over it, please! See you there, and please have a drink with me. John
To make sure we all arrive to the BBQ with the right attitude: John Greco has made great efforts to gather enough donations so that Lisa and I are not spending any money to host the event at our house. Our previous gatherings were funded by Lisa and I, but we are currently in a bit of a pinch financially. We appreciate all the efforts John has made, as well as the donations of the sponsors. Everyone who has RSVP'd is welcome to attend and enjoy the day. I think John's response to Bill O. sums it up nicley. A Paypal link that works or doesn't is not at issue. Bill wanted to donate, asked if he could bring some dessert, and John said, "Bill, Thats great to hear! We appreciate the help and look forward to meeting you all @ Bills casa. John " I am not privy to any PM's between Ron and John, but I believe the final statements that John makes points out his openness (is that a word???) by saying "Asking me to "avoid you" at Bills house at our club event is absurd! We are all there for fun! Get over it, please! See you there, and please have a drink with me." Most of you guys know me very well, and it would be hurtful to have some stupid infighting at an event that I am making some efforts in hosting. We have plenty of donations, the food will be great, the weather is supposed to get cooler, and we will have a great group of people attending. Looking forward to Saturday, but let's have fun! GO CANES!!! BT
I do not want to make a big deal out of this but.............I cannot believe some of the things are being said here. are we adults or children????????????? are we friends or not????? this is an opportunity to get together, enjoy each others company and have fun. First of all, Bill and Lisa are the greatest of hosts and MANY of us can attest to this. They have opened up their home to us many times in the past. Secondly, John Greco has put alot of time and effort into making this happen and even coming up with the original idea. John's motive is simply; to get people together and have some fun. Period. As far as I am concerned anyone who attends should say hello and thank you to him as much as saying hello and thank you to the hosts. If you cannot do that don't attend. If anyone has a problem please let it stop here. Let's look forward to Saturday and a nice day for all. Thank you again to Bill, Lisa, John and all of the sponsors.
