It is rare that we get advanced notice of an F1 appearance. Hopefully a few of you will be able to take advantage of the opportunity. Bring a camera for the rest of us. ;)

Yes, we will definitely be there.

Yuppie Racing is putting together a big group.
Pete is heading the North Group and I got the South Group.

I don't know Pete's route, but mine will be starting at Burger King rest stops on Route 24 North after 495 exit and departing at 6 a.m. We'll being going up 24 to 95 then off the exit to meet up with the rest of the group then driving to the dealership.

WE HAVE RESERVED PARKING! If you run with us.

That is right, this event is EARLY.

I will also be filming the South group (as well as the North when we meet up, lol).

PM me and I can give you my cell number.

Looking forward to your photos. There's no clean shot of the chassis plate from this car. As you know, it's just ahead of the shift lever on the right chassis spar. If you can snag one, even through the glass, that would be great!

If the engine cover is opened, it would be cool to get a shot of the VIN plate in the engine compartment too. It is affixed to the left side outer wall up near the base of the left rear window. If you need me to post something visual to help you find that, let me know.

Nah - unlike the chassis plate in the interior, the VIN plate in the engine compartment isn't exaclty obviously placed. If the upper engine cover is open it just takes knowing where to look hence my description here. In the past, I have been up close and personal with 5 different F1 road cars and never knew where it was until just a couple of years ago so I've only seen examples in photographs.

The VINs are also engraved in the carbon floor of the footwell of the right passenger seat. That engraving is covered by carpet which is held in place by velcro and probably isn't something that you're going to get to see without explicit permission.

That is one super nice and classy dealership. Inside, the big cars were parked in a group: F1, 997 GT2, Aston DBS, Gallardo and M5, M3...
I was able to talk with Herb C himself, and he is a true "car guy". Very cool.

Someone close to Frank said he had 3, 2 LM's and 1 F1 - he sold that orange one to "Ralph i like skinny models" and I thought he had the 2 others. My info is 2nd hand.

No fault of your own, but there is a lot of misinformation that circulates about Frank's F1s.

The real story is that he did have 3 McLarens - two were road cars and one was an LM. The two road cars were silver and black, chassis #068 and #007 respectively and the LM was chassis LM3. In December of 2004 he sold the LM to Ralph Lauren. Then in July of 2005 the silver road car was sold to a gentleman from Costa Rica.

Frank still has chassis #007, and most recently had the interior of the car refitted. Ralph will likely keep the LM forever, and it is up to this point the only LM that is known to have changed hands from its original owner. The silver road car was sold by its Costa Rican owner earlier this year to someone in the Boston area who I think a few of you might know. ;)

Thanks for clearing that up, after traveling around CR many times I can't imagine anyone owning that car in the country, if I recall he also had/has an Enzo. Many years ago walking down the street in Newport I came across a Silver (chambers) F1 on the street, as a car guy it was the most amazing site I had ever seen on the road. The next day Frank pulled into my place of work in a carbon F1 - What are the chances 2 in as many days in Mass - totally random also.
