Hmm..I wonder which one is right. I'd think C&D is, since the volume will be very low for this engine, and they don't already have the necessary tooling and resources to manufacture.

"The compact 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8, which has a flat-plane crank and makes, according to Sheriff, about 600 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque, is built for McLaren by an as-yet-undisclosed supplier."

We're talking about two different cars it seems. The just introduced MP4-12C is a V6.

    Correction: Although R&T lists it as a V6, McLaren's web site shows a V8.

Or Rubenesque, as the full-figured case may be.

I may be confused, but I thought this thread was about Rubens driving for Williams. Is it true that the deal fell apart when Rubens accused Frank of favoring his other driver? Frank denied it because he didn't know whom the other driver was going to be. Rubens said it didn't matter whom the other driver was going to be, he was tired of being treated as a #2 driver and stormed out.

The 3.8 TT is a V-8 that has not common parts to the MB powerplants. The V-6 was a typo not caught by the Editors of the magazine.

    Now where were we?

For further motivation, the Ferret should have a second thought about dusting off the correctly named Jim Clark Trophy and awarding it to the best Cossie team next year.

Nothing like finishing 14th in race one and being ahead in the points.....;)

Indeed, to use a tennis analogy, McLaren showed their Ana Ivanovic while Merc has chosen the Serena Williams route.

Racier? Although I'm not always a fan of their road cars, the first car that comes to my mind when someone says "racy" is Porsche. Nothing else comes even close. Maybe it's a generational thing or something. Then again, I have no idea who Joe S. is.

Barrichello 'talking with Williams and Brawn'
    Wednesday 14th October 2009 - PlanetF1.com

Rubens Barrichello has revealed he is in talks over a possible switch to the Williams team for the 2010 Formula One season.

The veteran Brazilian is out of contract at Brawn GP at the end of this year and has been linked with a move away from the Brackley-based outfit.

"I haven't signed with anybody yet," Barrichello said in quotes reported by The Guardian. "But it's true that I'm talking with Williams and Brawn."

Barrichello, who made his F1 debut in 1993, is the most experienced driver in grand prix history having started 286 races.

The 37-year-old has won two races this year and lies 14 points behind Brawn team-mate Jenson Button heading into the penultimate round of the season in his homeland this weekend.
