I have always found the power assisted steering in my F355 to be overboosted. That is the steering is lighter than necessary, and requires too little force to move the wheels. The only benefit to steering this light is parallel parking--shich my car alsmot never does. Many of the drivers of these cars on race tracks have toruble comming to grips with how fast the F355 will change direction, adn it takes deliberate (lack of) movement in the arms to avoid causing the car to do someting you don't want to happen. The F355 is so fast in changing directions, the majority of drivers on race tracks have to develop a seventh sense -- keeping the nose pointing forward at all points in time.
I suposed that 355CH cars have another steering... is it true? There is any aftermarket steering for our cars?
I put a smaller steering wheel on mine. Don't think there is anything like a quick rack used on the challenge, but may be wrong.
There IS a quicker ratio steering rack assosiated with 355 CH. It was an option on the 98 'CH kit'. It made a 1/4 of a turn difference. Good luck trying to find one!
Here is a picture of the Challenge parts from eurospares.co.uk. You need both the Challenge PSP and theCH rack. Cost is about 2500 euro. I have been looking for these parts for a long time and they are not easy to come by... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's a great link discussing the Challenge and Fiorano Handling Packages http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=213541
Cheers mate! I actually had to double-check that I was correct by asking an actual 355 CH owner here in Aus. Anytime mate. Best of luck with it. Good one boys! $2500 Euro is NOT cheap!
