This is funny stuff. Race earlier this year MSR Hosuton long time Spec. RX7 racer Tony Lee and SCCA Runoffs champion Tom Thrash (R.I.P.) brought out a 1st gen RX7. At some point they were deemed too "talented" and they poured a vile of iron shavings down the oil. Both Tony and Tom got to work draining the oil, dumping 10-15 gallons of gas through the system, and changing the oil. They got it running again, but during the break Tom actually pulled the engine and rebuilt it for the next day, still finding a few tablespoons of the iron filings in the engine. I've heard some great stories, never done it myself.

I found this info on another board, hard to believe a Honda product would be a bad idea.

    "Good" and "Bad" choices..

    http://jalopnik.com/5188845/the-24-h...election-guide

Bad: any honda or acura, miata, E30

Good: Toyota Corolla FX16, E28, Fox Body Mustang, protege.

I have never been, but I heard anything that looks fast will be beat up, drivers that look fast will be beat up, cars that should be fast will be beat up, and cars that actually are fast will get beat up. I think strategy is to sandbag without getting caught sandbagging and then stay in contention without getting ahead until end.

Then the best thing to find is something like a old police cruiser.

Has to be "Scuderia" in there somewhere. I know this dude who runs a Ferrari centric chat room. All those guys have money pouring out their ears. Maybe we can dupe him into sponsorship. I see 12 packs.

This may be the break I've been looking for all my life. The launch to F1.

Jag owner wants the big bucks for it; $750 ! $500 is supposed to be the limit. Good news is all it needs is a tune up ;)
Let me re-read the rules on how to cheat.

    V-12 packs...

I'm thinking $300 in 20s buys that car. And Rob is right down the street to do an eyeball on it...

    Any trademark attorneys lurking ?
If so you get a quarter panel. Act now and dayglo paint upgrade free.

Only one way to find out.

    So who's in ?

All for one and one for all.

Yeah, but the tuxedo t-shirt pit crew and grey poupon really doesn't work with a Fiat. Think cheap Mercedes, Jaguar, Caddy.

    Hell, I know I ain't -winning- anything...

I think that e28 would be a great call & it's a five speed. Riddle it with bullet holes & make it look like some sort of Wall Street 80's movie coke deal gone horribly wrong. Besides it gives us a reason to shoot at a car.

    I'm in for crew.

This guy's got it right. Survival is a win. This is endurance. Plenty of fast cars have graced LeMon, but rarely place well.

This reads like a Movie script.
    I'm getting chills.

    The place is here.

The time is now. (Or June 5+6 2010, whatever, I'm on a roll)

    Grasp fame with both hands.

    If you know you know
I'm interested in helping out as well.

    LMK how I may help!

    Steve

p.s. For what it's worth, I have a old 1979 Volvo 262c Bertone rolling chassis if you want something to work off of. 4cyl turbo volvo engine's are easy to come by and rock solid.
