Saved by a Flasher!

I have been saved by flashers (no...not those flashers ) countless times here in Europe.

 

nice to see our fellow drivers doing it still.........................flashing.

I have been saved MANY times by flashers and I return the favour as much as possible too.

 

I got booked for flashing on coming drivers .... one of them was an unmarked car .... the fine was the usual catch-all, neg driving

 

You know what JM...........I thought you could get caught for that.

And I actually thought I was 'done' the other day flashing an unmarked Cop car coming the other way.

Flash for cash parked up near the airport. Had the constant flow of traffic driving out there and I was casually flashing them as they come along so they didnt get caught. I flashed a dark green BA Ford sedan and for second there I went "oops"...........I think that is the unmarked Cop car we have here.

As I got closer I realised it wasnt. But I was curious what charge or any they could give you for that.

Yeah, they don't like it at all. Take it very personally.

I still feel obliged to warn my fellow motorists though.

 

Victoria must be spewing at the moment. I read in yesterdays paper speeding fines are down considerably. Looking at the apps on my phone that gentle reminder will be good. Not that I speed.

I wonder how long before they try banning these tools.

What is actually regarded as illegal? I got told by someone years ago that they would fine you for using your high-beams when not needed. So they said that you should just turn you normal headlights on and off, and then they couldn't do anything. Just say you were testing the dial.

My understanding is that the act of flashing your lights is illegal, obviously to warn others of impending cash register in the bushes, but under what circumstances *can* you flash lights in "legal" sense anyway? (trucks do it for passing trucks..)

Of course flashing slows the others down nicely.. which *was* the nice cops intent in the first place... right?... fellas? lol

 

I always flash. I've never been stopped but I'd take it to court if a cop tried to book me for it.

 

I only flash on major roads(tho these days its all cameras) highways and freeways. Tools speeding in urban streets deserve to be fined

I always flash on main highways and have never been caught. I think the fine is only $50 in NZ, so some might say it's a small investment. Been saved a few times, one of them being two days ago driving near Pukekohe. Cop car lights went on behind me, but the car right behind me got pulled over.

If only the cops here were as forgiving as NZ cops. I have seen that cop show, you can be drunk with no licence and still they let you off with a warning hahaha
