I am working on a deal for a 355 spider, the cars last service was 2003, which was the majoe service, dealer tells me it passed inpections by local ferrari dealer, but no records are provided to me. What should I be looking for before buying this car.

If this car has no service history at all, and you are determined to keep pursuing it. Then i advise you to have your OWN ferrari specialist to look over it for you. This is called an independent PPI.

It is doubtful the car you are considering will be a bargain once you do the required maintenance...

Find a car with records and current service...

You are far better off finding a good car with complete history, if we were talking about a Honda then the advice would be different, but with a Ferrari you need to be sure it has been maintained correctly.

Get a thorough PPI then negotiate deficiencies into the price. But as James said, it is better to find one that 'needs less for more money' than one that 'needs more for less money' .... ;)
