Hi Phill, you sound like you will be a good contributor. My alligence to Ferrari goes back to the late 50s. My philosophy towards the team and drivers sounds very much like yours. My philosophy towards the treads is to try to say something thoughtful when it is appropriate and have fun the rest of the time. Rubens is my favorite target for fun because he is the oldest of the drivers, but often acts like he is about 13 y.o. I try to remember that most of these guys are in their 20s, have had money and attention heaped on them when they were very young, and should be given some space and time to grow up. Some seem to do so, and some don't.

I will openly admit that I'm a fan of certain drivers and other F1 "personalities" not so much teams. I have always been a Kimi fan, even when he drove for McLaren, a team I disliked because of Dennis (I respect the man for what he has accomplished, I just don't like him or at least his public persona). I'm also a huge Flavio fan, even now. Flavio, like Ross Brawn, really knew what he was doing in F1. But no one's perfect.

Like many here have noticed over the years, I also support the team rather than the pilots.

Of course, there are pilots I tend to like more than others.

...but once they put the red suit on, all is forgiven :)

Phil, you had me with "I never liked Senna" +1000

Here's a true Tifosi, got your back Phil !! I back the TEAM, whoever's driving !

I'm somewhat new to this site and agree with your comments 100 percent. I laugh when people say that "you're alright if you don't wear red blinders" or red shades ect, but that's exactly what the Tifosi do ! We don't second guess and criticize the team, we look for the positive in any move by the team ! We back the team regardless, period ! I see people agreeing with you but with conditions, not me Phil, no conditions at all, true Tifosi have each others back ! You'll find that your first impressions are in fact true, not many true Tifosi stick up for the team here, glad to have you on board.

You'll find that there's a lack of Tifosi everywhere on this site, it really should be called "sort of Ferrari chat" or "Ferrari lite chat" I find it hard to believe really. I was criticized for bagging on Lamborghini for crying out loud !!! Isn't it the job of any true Tifosi to bag on Lamborghini at every opportunity ? LOL

    Anyway, FORZA Ferrari Phil !!!!!!!

Some religions are monotheistic, some polytheistic.
Ostensibly monotheistic religions may still include concepts of a plurality of the divine.
For example, the Trinity in which God is one being in three personal dimensions (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) so ... in reality, the tifosi are all around, in many shapes and sizes.

I've been a tifosi since childhood and supported Ferrari through thick and thin. And not just in F1 racing, although F1 is the only sport they give major factory support to these days. For most of the '80s and '90s, Ferrari struggled, but I've never expected them to win every year. Drivers will come and go. I support the TEAM.

I'm also a fan of certain drivers, but the team tends to come first. Hard to imagine Michael anywhere else, but if he had gone to another team for example, I would have still been a big fan. Well, any team other than the Evil Empire---McLaren.

Phil, see what I'm talking about ???????...

Well, tell us please what the definition of a "true Tifoso" is then? Based on your earlier statement it is a person who blindly follows the Ferrari team without any thinking.

That's not exactly a requirement according to wikipedia:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tifosi

Just accepting whatever Ferrari does and says without your own thinking to me sounds pretty stupid. Hence aquapuss' picture of lambs was quite appropriate.

But that's not my definition of a tifoso.

PS: Since Tifosi are originally regionally defined, we might also consider the Italian press as the voice of the people to some degree as a measuring stick for what a tifoso could/should be. And when the team in red does well, the press praises them to heaven, but when they don't deliver the goods, the Italian press will take no prisoners.

Who says "without thinking" ? Not me, and not "blindly" either. Think what you want but don't critisize the team, accept moves by the team and look for the positive in all moves by the Scuderia. In essence that is what the Tifosi do, so along that line of thinking the post with sheep is the one that is without thinking...

PS, quoting WIKI is really without thinking, LOL

We have to admit that Ferrari sometimes gets an A LOT of flak here at Ferrarichat. There are some guys (we won´t mention names) who have never said something nice about the team or the cars in all the years I´ve been around here, so I´ve always wondered why they joined the site. Nothing against them, but I find that a bit weird.

Furthermore, many people sometimes goes too far, but nobody seems to care about that, problably they think that the fight and the insults are part of the fun, and the moderators allow that. I find it disgusting, but it seems that I´m with the minority.

Personally, in reference to the OP, I don´t think that our team is perfect, but is not worse than others. And it has Style!

    You did:

Laugh all you want, then show me a better definition. Wikipedia is not the measure of all things, but a starting point until you come up with a better source.

No I didn't, don't put words in peoples mouths. Supporting the team "regardless" is not blind or without thinking. You all bag on Ferrari right and left, it gets old.

Hey Phil, you asked where are the Tifosi, see what I mean ????

    True words.

Lets face it blinkers blinders whatever there are called IMO are the description of folk who can't see Ferrari do any wrong, even when they are wrong.

So when MS parked his car in Monaco they would not want to believe he did it on purpose, even when proved he did.

So IMO they can't think for themselves in other words sheep like.

Chris you have got it wrong pal.
