PORSCHE 959 spotted at Chicago and Orleans last night!!! Silver. I'm 99.9% sure it was the real deal. Unless it was a PERFECT KIT, WHICH i DOUBT.

Only the second real 959 I have seen on the road. First one was back in college going down scottsdale rd. lic. plate was Real 959.

WOW! Top Spotting of the fall so far?

    Thanks.

    F1

Was an eye opening experience for me: As a big F1 fan and regular player of racing games I couldn't wait to "play" this car. And guess what: It felt and worked exactly the same as the games. Down to the look of the steering wheel. So I should be happy, right?

Well, I wasn't. F1 is the perfect tool for a track day session, but insanely unengaging (read boring) on the regular road. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I totally missed the regular stick. At some point I just gave up on it and put it in Auto. :(

I also thought it was rather gimmicky in its behavior and really neither gentle nor fast. AFAIR the flappy paddles on the Gallardo were a lot more to the point.

Aside from that, the car/experience was superb.

    Interesting write up, thanks!

I had a surprisingly good exotic spotting day.

3:20pm-Highland Park- Red Ford GT on the back of a flat bed.
    3:27pm-Highland Park- Red Tesla Roadster
8:45pm-Glencoe- I was driving down a side street at about 15mph when this driver comes whipping around the corner, at what had to have been at least 40mph, in a Grey GTR. He definitely almost hit me.

Coincidently Dave feels very similar after driving a 355 F1 and my buddy Mike reported almost verbatim the same thing after driving a Stradale. Except that in his subtle style he used somewhat heftier expressions. :)

Then again, we're all middle aged men. :)
