    newly purchased a 01 360 spider with 14k miles,if the car has sat overnight or for a few hours at start up i get some smoke and disapears and gone .car runs great,checked the oil level and its right where its at and i checked it at idle with eng running.also coolant level and eng temps normal.i had the oil changed with redline 5/40 say if it is the valve stems is it bad to run a little thicker like mobil 1 15/50?also when i start it up in the monrings idle is low and than it rises right away.any feedback much appreciated

    Is it bluish smoke? Sounds like leaking valve seals.

    It's quite possibly just the rich mixture on cold start up.

    I'd say don't let it worry you but keep an eye on the oil level. If it's burning oil it will show in the level before too long. If it's not your level should be fine and you can put it down to the starting mixture being rich.

    Idling speed? Not sure what your concern is. Certainly from cold one might expect slightly higher idling.

    took the tb hoses off and found oil in there cleaned the mafs and installed new air filters reinstalled and it seems better .after 1000 miles of spirited driving im about 1/2 qt low now.didnt do small smoke when start up before oil change so i must of put too much oil i put 10 qts total of red line 5/40.i will make sure oil level stays at half at hot temp engine running before it was right at the full after i did the oil change

    if you peek into the intake manifold your guaranteed to see some oil puddles dont worry its normal some shops clean it up as a service if you get the oil level wrong you will see alot more
