Looks a little low on power
Is that the new battery powered Fcar I've been hearing so much about? What is the MPP (miles per push)?
I have a feeling it's less than one! Thanks for the pics though, shows the water lines good and a few other things one can not see with that block of aluminum in the way!
Chris you should of called me I could of sent Bella and Dino to help push it in. By the way Chris that engine bay should be cleaned by now. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Hey... Wanna borrow my Boxer motor for awhile? She's coming out this Winter for a major service? If Mark can shoe-horn a V-12 in his 308, I'm sure we could get a BB engine into yours. Besides, you know I'm always up for a project... I'm sure my clients and their cars would understand the delay in getting their toys done...NOT! David
You know David, i was looking at that beast of a motor of yours and i said to myself "This could work". Image Unavailable, Please Login
OK boys and girls, it's time to get things rolling again. Had a few "other important priorities" to take care of so I'm kinda caught up to get the final stage of the motor done. So i decided to remove the timing cover/oil pump section. I didn't want to drop of the motor with that attached. It came off pretty easy. Crank bolt, eight nuts and some tapping and she came right out. Pic for your enjoyment. Howdy Chris- looking good! Did the two inner pilot bearings on the timing gears come out with the timing cover? It looks like it from the photo. You will want to replace those two bearings anyway- so just tap the new ones into the block. I assume that the outer bearings will be replaced also, along with the oil seals? Good luck! John
Hi John, Yes, it all came out it one piece. Are those the ones behind the sprockets? And i guess i need to replace the two little ones behind those two gears too?
Yes, you'll want to replace all 4 bearings, the 2 cam drive seals, & the crankshaft seal. I hate to mention it now that the cover's off, but it's a lot easier to break the cam drive ring nuts loose & remove the cam drive pulleys with the timing cover in place. Maybe put it in place temporarily with a few nuts & break them loose.
