okay i am looking at 2 cars both at dealers help me decide, please give some reasons for your choices: 1990 ts 21k miles last major service in 2007. white over black. well documented maint. lets just say 40k 1994 spyder 30k miles last major in 05 but only 500 miles since, belts will be replaced before purchase. well documented maint. black on black lets say 44k oh it is soooo hard being me.
I actually hope the 90 has the black bumpers, and then you get that one. I bet that combination would look great.
Nero/nero Spider sounds awesome! Id go with that, just to be that little bit different. You dont see too many Spiders in that colour combo.
cool so far on the remarks...do the prices seem in line with each other. if i could say do the ts for 38k would that make it more appealing?
Prices are great if you ask me! It depends mate if you really want the TS over a Spider. As long as both cars are great, its up to you to decide which one you want. Can you knock $2K off the price of the Spider? I reckon that would be a cool choice. That colour combo is rare and looks great. Everyone owns a red TS!
I'd go with the Spider, but that's maybe because I own one and live in southern California. One thought, the 348/355 Spiders look good with the top up. So you get the best of both worlds IMO. I have a Mondial Cabriolet that I won't drive with the top up because it doesn't look good with the top up.....IMO. Triple black 348.........ouch!
Look at this beautiful nero/nero 348 Spider! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I believe the Spider is a better car, no? Not this particular car vs. car comparison but, rather, the specific model comparison. The Spider has a little more HP, better electricals, and the handling has been improved due slightly great track width. Of course, I reside in the 308/328 section, so wtf do I know! LOL! Seriously...I do believe that the Spider is considered a better model than a 1990 TS but, in the end, they're both cool; just make sure you get a good ppi ;-) Good luck, Scott
okay so dumb question...i know the ppi is an pre puchase inspection but is that what it stands for? and how exactly does a person get one if the car is already at a dealer for sale? seems kinda like a conflict dontchya think? also if i could get the ts for 6 k less i could almost pay for a full service and be in the same boat. okay more details on the spyder for you. the major service was done 4 years ago but only 500 miles have been put on car since then. soooo i know the belts should be done at 5 year. but what other parts should be done? if any
Do you trust the PPI done by the persons selling the car? If you do, then dont bother getting another PPI done. If you have doubts, better off having another PPI done by another Fcar mechanic so you dont get ripped off or end up with a sh*t car. Your call man. The TS and Spider are both different animals. Up to you which model you want. The TS is $6K less because its an older car and they are plentyful. Spiders are little more rare and even rarer in nero/nero. Get cam belt done AND replace both tensioner bearings. Change all oils and fluids while you're there. It hasnt done many miles, but oils still break down over time. It most certainly is.
I say go for the spyder. Again for reasons mentioned in the previous replies. More horsepower in the spyder. Newer model Less spyders available which helps in resale Nice to have the ability to take the top down in nice weather Looks great w/ the top up I had to make the same choice and went for the spyder I don't regret it!!
I had a TS SS and loved it, but from the choices you describe no question I would go for the Nero Nero spider if the mechanicals are up to par... MB
If the TS is the one at Ferrari of Seattle, it is beautiful. If the Spider is the one at Lake Forest, it is not too shabby either. I would go with the TS based on the color and the respective appearances from the pictures.
Post some photo's of both cars up..... It is pure speculation on our part as to which car you should buy, if it were my money I would go with the car that is in better condition, the best way to find that out is to have a PPI done on both cars and compare the results. The spider has a slight edge IMO but ONLY if it is in excellent order.
triple black 348 spider is the way to go they look so beautiful with the top up and then with the top down even more beautiful ive got pics of a 348 spider black with black with 355 wheels any colour 348 is nice even pink with purple pocker dots would look nice. lol
Spider for sure! FYI, the dealer that I have been talking to about a '95 Spider agreed to let me bring in an independent mechanic to perform the PPI using their lifts, bays, etc. If they want to move the car, they should be cool with it.
I too recommend the spider, not only more HP but wider track and better looks (ok that is a little bias ) I ran into a black spider when I was at the Banff springs Hotel. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd go with the spider. The white TS would be a really tough resell. If you manage to keep the car for 15 years the spider will be a big dollar classic in my opinion. BT
